Free game list for SimCity players, Maxis gives details

EA offers choice of Mass Effect 3, SimCity 4, more for SimCity players

As part of its efforts to re-endear customers to the new SimCity, EA is handing out one free Origin game to all players, from a choice of Battlefield 3, Bejeweled 3, Dead Space 3, Mass Effect 3, Medal of Honor Warfighter, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Plants vs. Zombies and SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition. To be eligible for a free game, players must register their copies of SimCity before March 25 at 11:59 p.m. PDT, and must claim a free game before March 30 at 11:59 PDT.

Underage players will automatically receive a copy of Bejeweled 3 and SimCity 4.

Many players worldwide were unable to connect to Maxis servers following SimCity's launch in early March, locking the game completely since it requires an always-on connection. In the weeks after its release, EA and Maxis dropped "non-critical" features from the game and added servers to allow players to connect, and are now in the process of re-adding these lost features. This fiasco frustrated many players, as did the game itself.

I think this will make people very happy!

AND EA is going to get a HUGE boost in sales of SimCity now as everyone is going to be rushing to buy their copy of SimCity before March 25.

Haha; think the servers can handle that influx?

I'll be picking Most Wanted.
 
I'm tempted to go for Battlefield 3.... but I'm not sure I will enjoy it as I'm such a noob at those types of games.

Nothing beats the fun of flying in a jet ejecting above a sniper nest and collecting dog tags with your knife :D

Even though you're noob at those games it's still fun :)
 
Gonna try to convince my brother to pick Battlefield as well, just not looking forward to the download.

Before the 25th. Now I am seriously tempted to get the game. I was quite interested until I heard of the problems, but they got my attention again. Big ups to EA for making better than good.

The best part is, you're eligible for this offer up until the 25th, so for someone who doesn't have DS3 and still wants it, you can effectively get two new games for the price of 1.
 
That is, if any of us actually get the emails. I know EA handed out free coupons and games in the past and then simply overlooked large portions of the playerbase with it.

If that happens, I'll simply do a drawback on my CC for the Simcity 3 purchase. All of the games on my Origin account are games I'm unlikely to ever play again.
 
lol, really hard to choose if you allready own all the games, leave me no choice to go for Simcity Delux.. wonder if they will upgrade my existing one or will i have 2x Simcity's on my account.

1. When can I start to get my free game?
The free game portal will be rolling out in waves, and it will be available in the following regions by these dates:
North America by 5pm PDT/midnight GMT on Wednesday, March 20.
Europe by 5pm PDT/midnight GMT on Thursday, March 21.
Asia & South America by 5pm PDT/midnight GMT on Friday, March 22.

During the rollout, individual users may find they get access to the free game portal slightly before or after others in their region. Everyone worldwide will have access no later than 5:00PM PDT on March 22 and will have until March 30 at 11:59PM PDT to redeem.
 
Have you got your game yet?

I'm sitting with this screen in front of me:

I'm thinking Battlefield 3, but I don't want to buy any of the expansions, and I'm worried that without the expansions no one is going to be playing.
