If you can get some guys to support this initiative, we would definately look at hosting one
We normally require 16 Supporters to a single server request
One quesiton though, I have noticed that the other SA servers are very very closed off and extemely tightly regulated, ie, players hae to apply to be able to play on them etc
Is there a reason for this and if so, what is that reason?
We tend to not want to host private closed off, private "club" servers as we are a public service provider, in other words, our servers must be free for the majority of players to join an play on if hostd as an iGame server
In terms of the whole club idea, I really have no idea why WAGE etc want players to sign up. It may stop players from joining/griefing the server but that can easily be done with rollbacks in the server..
I see no harm in freely allowing people to play, with the addition of one of a few moderators who can mediate the flow and capacity of players on the server, I really do not see this being anything but successful. I've hosted my own server for awhile now, and my PC at the moment is slow but with an upgrade coming soon..even with my old pc, there was very little lag etc once the server itself has rendered.
Once again, hope you guys take on this idea![]()
Pretty much it. Players who are whitelisted are done so because they have read the rules and written a motivation.I can only see that type of system working if you have a truly neutral party or panel of players deciding on who plays and who doesn't, which is probably the route we would follow
Im keen for oneBUMP, anyone else interested in the Minecraft server?
Not just SA servers, a majority of the big INTl servers also require application, because of a nasty act called greifing, I have seen it all to many times before, decent players spend hours building thing in minecraft, then some asshat(s) come and destroy it with TNT/Lava/Water. Needless to say players are not happy, its not as easy to remedy as in cod4 for example, so prevention is better then cure.If you can get some guys to support this initiative, we would definately look at hosting one

Prevention may be better than cure, but its only half as much fun
