Free video editing tool?

Hello all,

I'm thinking of creating gameplay vids/music vids (maybe even tutorials) :D
Would like to know what free video editing tool(s) you fellows recommend to edit FRAPS-captured videos.
Preferably a tool with intuitive controls - don't need studio god editing abilities.

I've used windows movie maker back when XP came with it, and also Nero's POS editing thing that came with the disc burning application. Both were good for basic editing, but I need something with slightly more oomph.

Please don't tell me to google :p

I don't know of any software for it but it would be nice to learn how to do it :)

Since you did not describe what "oomph" you require, see below:-
http://www.ezvid.com/

You can try downloading a pirated torrent, further discussion of pirated software is unfortunately not allowed since it's illegal and all.:p

If you do go the torrent route then make sure it's a well known torrent site and always download the one with the most seeds, also take a look at the comments to see how legit the torrent.

Thanks for the replies.

Forgot to mention what "oomph" I want.
Essentially two things:
- More ways to merge scenes, like splicing, instead of just overlays.
- More control over the components, like equalisers for the sound, not just loudness between fore and back ground noise.

Ezvid looks pretty simple to use, will try check it out over the weekend.
Lightworks and adobe looks like it'll require a bit of time* to learn :o

@Tydmors, I'll upload a vid about making a vid if I can do something with ezvid (<--bad grammar is bad)

*Yes, I know I need to be willing to spend time to become better. Thanks for the concern ;)

I dont know of any worthy free video editors except adobe premiere 2.0 but I can vouch for Sony Vegas.

I actually cant believe Vegas 9 is so cheap these days. I edited many projects with it for years. If you sit down with it properly and understand the basics you'll be editing within an hour. Everything is drag and drop and really intuitive.

this is what I did with sony vegas. Just recorded this for my friends who'd never seen Borderlands. (can you believe it? jeez)

you can render to AVi, Mpeg, Mpeg2, WMV and a few others to HD.

Magix Movie Edit Pro is pretty good as well. Relatively basic to use, but you have a lot of control if you wanted to do some more complex stuff.
