Galaxy S5 to be unveiled February 24th?

Oh awesome. I'm due an upgrade in a few months, and I was hoping to get an S4. Maybe I can get an S5 by then, or at least a cheaper deal on an S4
If you're on a contract then it's fine to get a slightly older phone as you get to upgrade in 2 years :) But off contract it makes much more sense to buy the best phone as it'll last for longer before you'll need/want to get a new one.

I've always liked the galaxy's, however we cant choose android phones with our work contracts, so Im gonna try out the Lumia 925.

I think I'm over trying to keep up with the latest phones. They come out too rapidly. My S4 isn't even a year old yet.

Agreed. It seems only Americans are able to buy the newest phone every single year. Before releases posts always pop up about how to sell your old phone, it's crazy. I'm happy with my iPhone 5 which is going to last me the next 4-5 years :D

I have a Lumia 800. It's actually very cool, but it's an old model and I can't upgrade the OS to WP8. I'm stuck on WP7.8. The biggest issue for me is the limited amount of apps compared to iOS and Android, and all the new apps for Windows phones are coming out for WP8, so it's even worse...

Yeah I've had every Galaxy S since the S1 and all that really improved was the speed. The motion controls etc are cool to show off but who actually uses them? I can't justify it anymore until the new model is substantially better and not just full of gimmicks :p.

My wife has the S3 currently, I doubt she'll upgrade as for what you get out of an upgrade from previous versions isn't huge. Just hte price is quite expensive. Although she says that now....

Haha it is so hard watching a new product release and not throw money at the screen, but we have to stay strong.

Ya with the Apps i have a 5th generation ipod so i can get all the games/apps i want there, Apparently Windows mobile as great integration with Sharepoint etc for work so im heavily leaning towards the 925 instead of an Iphone 5.

I would imagine it'll probably integrate well with Exchange Server as well. It definitely does work quite well with Skydrive and OneNote, and you can access your XBox Live account without installing any extra apps.

I must say that it does do a great job of integrating all the info from your phone, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, etc. It's all pretty seamless.

im still happy with my iphone ! yes its only a dual core compared to the quad core and octacore samsung galaxy's but the interface is still extremely snappy on ios and atleast i know 100% of apps will work on my phone from itunes, half of the schitte on the playstore doesnt wanna run on my less than a year old galaxy tablet. android really frustrates me

But that's pretty much the norm with technology and especially smart phones. Each year they come out with a new model that is an improvement on last years model, but not a major innovation. Innovations generally take time and are slowly incorporated into the technology as each new release comes out.

It's the norm yeah; but it isn't necessarily a good one. Consider the leap between S2 and S3. Was phenomenal. But thereafter it's becoming harder to justify the next level up

I don't think the S4 was quite the knock-out Samsung was hoping for. As far as I'm aware, it's sales figures pales in comparison to older generations S phones, and even the latest iPhone. I think Samsung made a strategic decision to fast-track a newer model to generate more sales

People do like shiny new things even if the shiny new thing isn't necessarily better. Samsung "greedisgood" :p

I'm going to share something here quick. I am using the S2 now after giving my wife my Note 3, and besides the screen being far better on the Note 3, the performance is nowhere near a R6000+ premium. Touch whizz still slows the Note 3 down.

Unfortunately we haven't yet reached the stage where technology "just works" :( Sometimes it's badly-made items, other times its really just luck of the draw. For instance, bad battery life is just a way of life in smartphones, I don't think they can make batteries that perform consistently. But if you get something with some faulty issue, or a bad solder connection and doesn't meet your expectations, it is one of the most frustrating things to experience.

Well I have been looking at getting the S4 so maybe I'll wait till I see what happens here. Hopefully it will be worth the wait

S4 is far too similar to the S3 in terms of looks, so I would wait just for a design change.

S4 is not a huge step up from the S3...

When the S4 launched Samsungs share prices actually dropped because the S4 wasnt as advanced as the S3 was compared to the S2... S5 needs something big...

I just bought the S4 (my wife wanted my S3 and she's loving it). I wasn't sure that I would be wowed by it, but it has been a really good phone so far and almost seems like the battery lasts a wee bit longer than my S3. So anything that goes beyond this will be phenomenal. I'll be looking out to see what they do with it.

The S4's colour changed.

Redesign would be good for the series; not just an improvement on the features and performance.

If you are a fan of the form factor of the Note, and enjoy the practicality of the stylus, then go for the Note 3. My boss recently got one, and it's an amazing piece of kit that. Really good built quality as well. It has a nice feeling leathery type back panel which feels actually quite premium.

Specs wise, expect the S5 to be better that the Note 3, but not by that much

Yeah i love my not 2 and i use the stylus daily Specially with PvZ :D so my heart is leaning towards it and it's no slouch. my Sis has one and 3 of the guys at my work and i can't wait to have my own
