I don't know about it being thrown out, their legal system seems to have a lot of free time
Regarding censorship though, SA is no different, there are a number of titles that never made it "Officially" to our shores, one example is Kingpin, after the demo appeared here it was pulled from active distribution as it was deemed too violent etc.
I don't understand the idea behind blaming external media for ones internal issues.
Music has gotten blamed, after waco, PC games have been the main target though.
Ultra violent games are part and parcel of what makes gaming what it is, whether your shooting zombies or hellspawn, I don't see it causing any serious harm to anyone, even the more impressionable youth.
I can tell you one thing though, we live in an age where parents seem all to eager to pass the buck on final responsibility, I was faced with one such case when starting iGame.
I was asked, by a mother, straight out , if I would accept responsibility in enforcing age restrictions on our servers.
Thats sort of a double edges question, Is it my responsibility, or is it the responsibility of the FPB ( Film and Publications Board who set age restrictions ) , the Retailer that sells the title to people who do not meet the set age restriction , or the parent, who funds the above purchase.
I just smiled, put up a disclaimer and said : " I don't know about responsibility, but I sure will knife him a few times
"
