Gameplay Trailer for Mass-Murdering Shooter Is Beyond Brutal

Nothing shocking really, I recall Postal and Manhunt where brutal and equally violent yet they did very well and gained a cult following of sorts.

*edit*
Yes I will play this, and yes I did play the MW2 Airport scene and enjoyed it. Does that make me a mass murderer? Not in any way.

That's rather morbid.

I'd like to give it a try. See what the extent of the AI and the killing animations are. As for the game being tasteful - definitely not.

Good way to generate traffic though.

+1

Not my kind of game, but I wouldn't really call it "shocking."

I suspect that given today's climate surrounding this sort of media, it'll likely face all sorts of battles to even see the light of day.

Essentially, I don't oppose controversial games but I can fully see it being blamed for everything under the sun on release.

Yeah, You Gean you!

Meh, this isn't my kind of game.

I don't think you can compare this game to Postal. Postal was first and foremost a comedy/satire. Never played Manhunt though...

Man hunt was so bloody awesome!

Manhunt was awesome, but you generally weren't killing innocent people begging for their lives. You have to be pretty twisted to get any joy from that.

I'm with Glordit on this one. MW2's airport scene did not effect me at all but rather enhanced the sense of urgency in the story imo.

I think really graphics scenes of violence or abuse, when done incredibly carefully and respectfully, can enhance the overall experience of a game. That being said I wouldn't jam Hatred, I'd rather play Transistor again :)

:-/ GTA anyone. It may be satire but still beating people with a bassball bat lol.

Each to their own, playing games should at least be entertaining, nothing with that level of violence is entertaining whatsoever.

haha as soon as I saw the trailer I knew it was from polish/Russians dev.
I wont play it. I get no enjoyment out of characters begging for their lives while you kill them.

I'm with Eugene on this one, I think this is in very poor taste. I wouldn't ever campaign against its existence, but I think it's pretty f***ed up that people would consider making a game like this. One of the most tasteless things about this game is that they are undoubtedly creating it for the shock factor. They know that it will elicit a reaction and they know it will get coverage because of the subject matter. It's media-whoring of the worst kind and for that I lose all respect for the developers/creators. It shows that they don't really want to create a fun game for people to enjoy, they want to create a game where they can create enough buzz around it for it to sell well. This doesn't instill much confidence in me regarding the quality of the final product either.

I have to say I'm not really surprised that Tsar is ok with it...I've never seen someone so eager to go to war...lol

This isn't a video game, its pretty much a murder simulator.
Kill as many innocent people as possible before being put down by the cops.

The media will have a field day with this, and for once I'll be on their side.

I love games like this, postal 2 was hilarious, so was gta... so whats the difference?:)

The difference is that this is not hilarious at all. If anyone does find it humorous, they're probably not someone I would feel comfortable hanging around with. I imagine them being the kind of people who enjoy going to sites with pictures of real dead people and gruesome photos.
