Gamer Confessions..

Never liked any of the Half Life games. Actually all valve games suck except for Left 4 Dead but only with a friend.
Not a fan of any MMO's in the slightest.
I get annoyed when games don't let you change your characters outfits.( Just Cause series: tropical island - long black pants with pointy boots? put some flipin shorts on and go for a swim! chop!)

I hate WoW and open world games too.

I played up to level 12 in Neverwinter, will never touch it again

I struggled at some spots in Skyrim and changed the game difficulty to easy, played the bit, then changed back to medium again.

Batman Arkham City was awesome... so awesome I played it for 8 hours straight and then never again.

The best game I ever played was "karretjies" in the sand outside of our house in Ceres when I was like 6....

I hate MMO's.
I hate Minecraft and Terraria.
I hate MOBA's.
I hate God of War.
I dislike Gears of War.
I hate Halo.
I think MGS4 is the most overrated game ever and one of the worst games I have ever played.

Will post more as I think of them...

I play all my games on normal difficulty and never touch them again.
I don't really care about best/high scores or K/D ratios.
There's no point in buying/playing fighting games because no one else will invest the time in training/learning the combo's to be competitive and fun (Unless you play it as an esport).
I get depressed when I look at the total amount of hours playing dota 2.

I can go one better and make a REAL confession:
I play almost all my games on the easiest difficulty. I hate getting killed and then having to replay a level. And even on easy I get killed A LOT.

Things I hate:

  • Silent protagonists
  • MMO's
  • MOBA's
  • Minecraft
  • Team based MP games
  • Any FPS on console
  • Games with more cut-scenes than gameplay
  • Games with ridiculous learning curves
  • Most turn based games

Things I like:

  • Games that affect me emotionally
  • Games with good physics effects

I very rarely replay games that I've finished.
I've never played a table top / board game in my life.

I'll probably think of more later.

I Can't play any MMO's after Guild Wars 2, everything about it make other MMO's bland yet I can't seem to play it anymore either. I am seriously considering a return to Guild Wars 1.

Despite myself loathing EA I still buy some of their products, and then shortly afterwards have buyers remorse. Battlefield 4 will the last EA game I own, I just can't bring myself to play it as much as I did 3 and 1942.

I will purchase games on sales and spend most of my free time in other online games like; CS:GO, LoL, PoE, TL2. I bought over 10 titles in December, I have only played 1 so far, this excludes the other 6 I got last year.

Going for 100% completion can grind my gears and drive me insane, I spend most of my Xmas and New Years hunting down the 'last few' achievements for Borderlands 2, I think I am going to give it a break.

I very often catch myself going to online web stores and building up a PC with various budgets in mind, I always get something over my budget in the end.

Install multiple games and end up playing a hour of each, leaving them for months on end sometimes then one day decide to play them again, to which I shall play continuously until I am satisfied that I will never play it again or have obtained all of the achievements to which I never play again.

I played Quake 3 and UT99/2k4 so much I became obsessed with KDR, this is ironic cause it is 0.xx in CS:GO but other online shooters 1.5x+

Have played every single Splinter Cell game and only completed 2, Conviction and Pandora Tomorrow.

There are some games in my Steam Library that I will never play.

I buy keys for CS:GO knowing there is always a 90% chance I get a crappy drop. Yet to get anything valuable, spend ~$30 so far.

Oh might I add to my confession

Round two confess

I thought halo series was bloody boring
Newer games I play once and never again I rarely find a new game worth my time

I don't like most modern game musical scores. I actually had a conversation with it to mr alexander brandon who did a few epic sound tracks for games like unreal,ut 99,jazz jack rabbit so on. It lacks charm. I mean most musical scores have become generic(not including indie games)

I like gaming I really do but I feel like there isn't much anymore gaming wise that gets me excited.

More things that came to mind:

I (also) play most games on easy difficulty and even then I sometimes struggle. E.g. almost every review I've read for The Amazing Spider-Man complains that the game is too easy, even on the hardest setting, but I struggled with it at times on the easiest setting.

I cannot stand most strategy games, especially turn-based ones. The only exception I can think of now is the Battle for Middle Earth games.

I've never finished a Mario game, and I think they all suck.

I have never finished a Final Fantasy game, or any JRPG for that matter. I just don't like them for some reason.

I'm not ashamed to use walkthroughs when I'm stuck and I have used quite a few trainers in my time as well.

I've never played a Call of Duty game after number 2.

I've never played a Final Fantasy game.

I get bored with new games 25% in and don't finish it.

I enjoyed Borderlands 1 a lot more than 2.

I forced myself to like the legend of Zelda series of games.. but then I found ICO and SoTC and found it to be waaay better.
OCD causes me to constantly reload even after firing a single shot. Sometimed I hoard items and leave them unused for the entire game like grenades or health potions for example.
Sometimes when I get bored, I drive like a normal person in GTA and go on roadtrips.
When a path splits in a game I get annoyed and have to check both routes/detours for any missed items before proceeding.

This! And I always try guess which is the side-path and which is the path that advances the plot so that I can do the side-path first.

This is something I hate in top-down hack 'n slash games like Diablo. I never know which route to take because I don't know which is the main route and which the side-routes, then I'm scared I end up missing loot drops or enemies.

Ninja'd by Darthmol by a fair margin. That's what I get for leaving tabs open. :p

i think blizzard games aren't that good in fact they suck
cnc was always the best rts up until tib wars cnc 4 is crap
red alert 3 sucks ra 2 and yuri's revenge are miles better

to echo Murph, valve, horribly over rated

I enjoyed the starship troopers fps from 2005

I don't get games like Minecraft, Terraria or FTL

I hate MOBA's.

i hate most turn based games

i think final fantasy 8 was the best

i hate the need and want to turn any successful rpg series into a fucking mmo franchise

post extended cut i think ME3's ending is good, not great but good (only if you take the destroy option)

Dragon Age 2 was a good game

Crysis 1 and 2 are amazing games and a lot of fun

i think fallout 3 and new vegas are better than the original 2

Oblivion was better than Morrowind (need to play skyrim, thanks steam)

and on that subject, i hate the blind worship steam gets.

more if i can think of it

I`ve played 11 starcraft 2 1v1 games, and lost all of them.

Can`t make progress in a machine for pigs because I insist on playing with the lights off and headphones on

The last time I played battlefield 3 I tried to pilot a helicopter and promptly crashed, tried to play it afterwards but I need to re-install punkbuster or something, didn`t bother with it.

Didn`t finish, among others:
Tomb Raider
Assassin`s creed... brotherhood I think
Saints Row IV
Black ops
Hitman Contracts
Only finished the skyrim main storyline last weekend, with much boredom
Boishock Infinite
Dishonored
I know that baldur`s gate 2 will be rewarding if I can get into it, but I can`t.
