Gamer Confessions..

Thought I was the only one, didn't hate it so much just thought it was too slow paced, but loved the missions from "the ballad of gay tony"

I think a lot of people didn't enjoy 4. I hated the friend mechanic, you would be on a mission get a call, sorry can't hang out now, "well fuck you we can't be friends anymore"

Yeah it was slow; unwieldy; and Nico just felt way too clumsy. Also the tone of the game detracted from what GTA is all about

I loved gta iv , the story was ok not good but i just usually mess around and don"t do any missions after the first part of the game has been completed. The way he moved made it feel a bit uncomfortable though at times when you had to do things fast.

I play Pokemon, Skylanders, Candy Crush and WoW and find any popular game boring especially fps, I am a mmorpg fan.

When playing fighting games with friends I press random/mash buttons and when the character does a special movie I feel awesome inside but on the outside it looks like I intended to do that/know what I'm doing :p

First confession: I read through this whole thread, couldn't stop and yet I still wanted to comment on several things even though this post will most likely end up being tl;dr. :o

I get depressed when I look at the total amount of hours playing dota 2.

I get depressed when I look on Xfire and see that Dota 2 still hasn't overtaken my time spent playing HoN. Speaking of HoN I spent more on that game than I should've. I pre-purchased the game when it was in beta, then when it went free to play I continued buying all the heroes up until I got into the Dota 2 beta. Let's just say there's a good chance I've spent over a R1000 on that game and I can't even play it anymore because I no longer like the way it handles compared to Dota 2.

There are some games in my Steam Library that I will never play.

Ditto, though I think that applies to everyone who has ever bought anything during a Steam sale. Speaking of sales I didn't buy any games during the last Steam sale.

This! And I always try guess which is the side-path and which is the path that advances the plot so that I can do the side-path first.

During my first attempt at DAO I guessed the wrong path and I progressed so far into the game that the town where you are supposed to recruit Leliana and Sven got overrun. So I couldn't recruit them anymore which upset me so I decided to start again. Since starting again I have yet to complete the game despite getting further and discovering more than I did during my first playthrough.

I can't play a game until I've played it's predecessor. This is why I will never be able to catch up on Final Fantasy,

You may be pleased to know none of the Final Fantasy games follow on from each other. Each game has a completely new and unique story with the exception of 10 and 13, which are the only FF games to have sequels namely X-2, XIII-2 and XIII-3 aka Lightning Returns.

Ok so I only had mere stereo headphones but still...

I wonder if it would be as scary these days or if it would seem dated.

I'm afraid it isn't or at least I was desensitized to it because of F.E.A.R. because I was able to play this game recently with the lights off and with surround sound headphones on and I barely got a fright. Amnesia on the other hand is fracking scary!

And since this is a confession thread I'll admit two times I screamed like a little girl because of a game, luckily I was a lighty at the time so I don't care. :p

The first time was when I played AvP, when the first alien jumped out the ceiling I screamed in a very high pitch for far longer than I care to admit.

The second time was when I was playing The Suffering. I accessed these surveillance cameras and saw something sneaking up on me but when I quickly looked behind me nothing was there and just as I was about to breathe a sigh of relief my mate's cat jumped on my lap and that is the second time in my life that I screamed like a little girl. :(

Above all I seriously miss LANs at someones house. LEGENDARY times those. :( x billion. The interwebs killed that. And no don't tell me RAGE etc.

To a certain extent I agree and disagree. You may think the internet killed LANs but it has also made it far easier to get together with your friends and play games together. I LANed with some friends in December and while it was good all being under the same roof that can only happen once a year now due to the obligations each of us have when we're not on leave. But at least with the internet we can setup up virtual lans with Evolve or play any number of online games together at a moment's notice.

I bought all the mass effect games, I played no1 for about 3 hours, bought no 2 just to see miranda, and bought no 3 ,but is still sealed for over a year now.

What is wrong with me

Dude, you're not alone. I bought the Collector's Edition of Mass Effect 3 and I still won't touch it until I finish the first two games.

If it has any reference as to any EA or origin I automatically hate it.no matter what it is. I will always and forever more think they are a company that makes games just so you can be happy for a short period, they never make a game that leaves you wanting more.other game companies sometime s makes games so good that it leaves you wanting more.

I tried to have that attitude towards EA and Origin but in the end I caved and bought BF3 & 4 and I picked up Dead Space 3 through a Humble Bundle deal. In fact the Dead Space series is a series from EA that leaves me me wanting more and it caused me to do something I never thought I would do and that is purchase something from the Origin Store! After finishing Dead Space 3 I was only too happy to purchase the Awakened DLC. :)

i've not played darksiders 1 or 2.
actually i played darksiders 1 for about 5 - 10 min and then stopped.

I enjoyed Darksiders 1, I finished it several times and even grinded for all the achievements. As for DS2 I bought the CE but I haven't even got past the second stage of the game. :(

Aside from what I posted above here is the rest of my confessions:

  • I love the Final Fantasy games but I have yet to finish a single one.
  • I have probably experimented with every nude patch out there for the various female characters in games.
  • I spent a ridiculous amount of money backing a game on Kickstarter.
  • I used Bandicam to slow down the framerate in RAGE to help me get a few achievements.

And that's about it for now. Apologies for the long post.

When playing fighting games with friends I press random/mash buttons and when the character does a special movie I feel awesome inside but on the outside it looks like I intended to do that/know what I'm doing :p

So...it is you whom is that fighting game guy.

This confession is unforgivable! :p

Another confession from me; I'm think the indie gaming scene is overrated and pretentious.

A confession from me, i don' play small games but only AAA titles, i think it is useless to buy other indie games and like snare said, they are very pretentious.

You guys are really missing out by not playing indie games. AAA titles are all the same, indie games bring in originality and can try out genres that will never be touched by the AAA studios.

It makes me sad that you guys will never experience some of the awesome indie games out there. :(

Well you say indie games are so good, what is a good entry level game them, i don't play them because my friends don't play them.

there was a stage in my life where i didnt focus on any gaming so basically the the elder scrolls series ... yeah havent played any of them, the halo series yeah nope, the mass effect series nope those are among the few to mention :(

oh and another thing i can never chose the bad/evil/dark path i have litterally played jedi knight and jedi academy at least 5 times each and can never bring myself to chosing the path of the dark side
