Maybe if this mag was a downloadable Mag and not a printed one, and maybe could get international, I dout there are sooo many Girl Gamers in SA who would support this mag to such extent that it would need to carry on.

Despite the name of the mag, it's not girl gamers that they are aiming at to buy it.

Did you even read the article? Or look at the cover pic?

This is definitely not a magazine for girl gamers, so the amount of girl gamers in SA is completely irrelevant to its success.

Seems to me just another light pr0n (semi-nude models) mag, but with a gamer theme. I guess it means that gaming and "geek culture" is becoming more mainstream, but I find the cliche of taped up glasses, suspenders and bow-tie to be a little offensive. And the way she is holding that controller makes it clear that she has never used one in her life.

Thanks for putting that image in my head, here I even posted it to share my pain.

On topic: The Magazine... Yarr.

Gamer Girl,which is available online, promises to feature video game models, cosplay girls, and not much else from what we saw of the preview pages. The link between the models and gaming is tenuous at best, with the ladies tentatively holding PS Vita’s and console controllers.

So call it Cosplay Girl? Seriously it's not even aimed at women it's a fan service for gamers (ala FHM with a gaming theme).
