Gamers Against Bigotry website targeted and defaced by hackers

Nah I won't sigh something like this. If you want to play online games (competitively) you have to be mature enough to handle or ignore the rage and trolling. I'm not saying this website is a bad thing. I just don't see me forcing myself into it.

Attitudes like this are part of the problem.

The issue is that the other side, the bigots, should be mature.

Although I wholeheartedly agree with the campaign, I can't say something like this is unexpected. People like to be assholes, and a campaign against bigotry was bound to become the target of assholes sometime. Just look at Anita's Kickstarter campaign for making videos on the state of sexism in the industry. You'll always get the odd asshole with social issues who wants to ruin everything for everyone else.
