Games for Windows Live

So I upgraded my PC to get back into some PC gaming. In anticipation of buying F1 I created a Game for Windows Live Id and wanted to buy Gears of War for pc from the marketplace, and get told you need a Gold live membership, so i get that and then when I try to buy it says it is not supported in my region. I thought when Xbox live was launched locally the Game for windows live service would be as well. Does this mean I won't be able to play any Games for Windows live games online.

Nope. No online support in SA whatsoever for winlive. My solution revolves around simply not buying any win live game whatsoever. Bittorrent FTW!

Live is shit, but if you must use it create a US/EU account.

well pc xlive is kak, but xbox version is so much better. though you can log in with your xbox xlive account...
