Games that define a childhood

Ya me too. Although the graphics seemed much better in my memory of them

Hang on, is this a new MyG staff member putting up links to articles?

There are a few of those I did not play, my Childhood games are Carmageddon (that i played when parents went to sleep), Claw, Toxic Bunny, Jazz Jackrabbit

All those games except planescape were part of my childhood.

Some notable mentions as well are Duke Nukem 3D and Sim City 2000

Speaking of Carmegeddon, the reboot looks good!

Saw the trailer and so many fun memories came crashing back.

Everyone's childhood will differ. There are some games I didn't even know existed as a kid, like Dungeon Keeper. Then there are those that I saw but did not give a go. Like Grim Fandango.

Games to note for me (most memorable) is Fallout Tactics series, Black & White, Neverwinter Nights.

So much this. I was hoping everyone would weigh in with the most notable games from their childhood, because they do all differ. There were also a stack I didn't mention.

Wacky Wheels, Doom, and just about everything else from Epic Megagames and Apogee during the shareware boom in the 90s.

Wolfenstein 3D just came to mind. The Thief series.

I remember being home with the mumps in Grade 3 or 4, stayed home for 2 weeks. Played Thief 2 every single day. All single day.

Games that I always feel nostalgic about:

Megaman (Rockman) - The first "TV Game" I ever owned
Mortal Kombat 1 and 2 - My first (and only good) Sega Megadrive games
Crusader: No Remorse - My fist PC-CD Rom game

Others:

Dungeon Keeper
Under a Killing Moon
Quake 1-3
Riven: The Sequel to Myst
Little Big Adventure
Thief 2

Super Mario Bros deserves a mention in the Famicom section. And Sega (which I never had one of *sniff*), with Sonic the Hedgehog in particular.

Is it possible to have played so many games as a child you don't remember them all?

I am seeing a lot of mentions of games I did play, but could not recall them on thought.

I blame it on the 101-in-1 cartridges -_- You can only remember so much of them!
