Games that wrecks havoc to your OCD

There are various little things in games that really frustrates me. There are certain tasks or things that can be done in games that infuriates me, as I get a huge flair-up in OCD and things have to be done before I can continue.

One such thing that gives me a huge flair-up in OCD is revealing maps. I HATE it if there is only a little bit of undiscovered map that I haven't been to. Diablo 3, Don't Starve, Age Of Empires, or any other game that I have to run around the map to reveal it makes me so angry, because I simply cannot leave even the smallest part of a map not revealed. I NEED to explore and see all the areas....urgh..

So what games, or what feature in games gives your OCD a good bollocking?

I have OCD about people using OCD in a way that makes it sound like some little personality quirk everyone has, when in fact it's a serious mental disorder that people need professional help for. The problem when you use it in this way it that people who actually have OCD aren't being taken seriously, because everyone thinks they have it.

Is there another way to describe that inner organizational voice in your head that dies a little inside when things aren't put in a way that they should? If there is then we will surely use it. the reason the use OCD in this manner is because everyone understands exactly what you are talking about.

i don't suffer from proper medical OCD, but rather the general gamer version where you MUST find all the collectibles, or uncover the entire map, or finish all the side-quests. its bloody exhausting. I have often just abandoned a game as I cannot find the time to finish all the side quests, but i can't bring myself ot simply do the main missions.

Sure, you can use words like obsessive, and compulsive. They do actually mean something on their own. Disorders are something a bit more serious though.

I understand the point that MS is trying to bring across, but it has really killed the vibe; so much so, I cannot think of any gaming "OCDs" right now...

I have this with exact problem with dragon age inquisition. there are too many side quests and i will never forgive myself for just completing the main story line. I have finished (100%) all the assassins creed games prior to AC: unity

I don't know if this is OCD, but while building in Minecraft, everything has to be in symmetry. If that starts goin out, I redo it. Everything needs to fit right

Now 'Soup, I think you're being a bit OCD about people using the term OCD to refer to "OCD" (8shâ„¢) and not actual OCD :p

Just kidding, you make a good point, although gamers are notorious for using terms that refer to serious issues in rather trivial ways: e.g. "Those guys were raping us!" to refer to an unbalanced match.

Maybe a better term would be to use "inner perfectionist" or something like that.

On topic: This is what killed AC3 for me, I felt that I had to get all the side quests done before doing the main mission of each chapter. So whilst I found the campaign missions fairly enjoyable the oft boring sidequests put me off the game after a while
