There has been many adaption s of games into movies in the past and for the faithful gamer it is always awesome to see those pixels come to life .
As the tech evolves with movies like avatar we can look forward to great adaption s in the future .

There are those games that we will wait for like MGS and there are those that have come and some that will be here soon.

In this thread we can discuss it all , what you liked ? What you want to see?

Coming soon is The Prince of Persia

Resident Evil: Afterlife sees Milla Jovovich back as the zombie-killing Alice, along with returning cast members Ali Larter and Spencer Locke as Claire Redfield and K-Mart, respectively. New cast members include Wentworth Miller as Claire's brother Chris Redfield, Shawn Roberts as the villainous Albert Wesker, Boris Kodjoe and Kim Coates.

Sadly the MGS movie is Dead

I think Protoype would make an awesome blockbuster movie - its loud, pointless, violent - Prototype: Origins or something...

And I've always thought Diablo would make a decent film for some reason..

Except in the (multiple) cases of Uwe Boll ;)

Mafia, Brothers in Arms and Splinter Cell. Films based on games with actual plots and in depth characters for me please

I'm actually thinking it's for the better that the Metal Gear Solid movie is dead, I really doubt they could have done the game justice. The Prince of Persia movie looks like it might actually be reasonably good, at least from what the trailer showed.

I'm hoping for God of War movie awesomeness! :D

and how did Hitman and Max Payne not have "actual plots and in depth characters" ????

Frankly I've lost faith in games made from movies, they just butcher the story into some hollywood crap

hope its not anything like their previous attempts

The Prince of Persia film looks like it might do the game some justice.

The Resident Evil films should've died after the first one already, last one was the worst of the lot.

just had a thought...

James Cameron to do the Halo movie... (if it ever get's the green light again)

Games and film shouldn't mix. As gaming evolves its leaning more and more towards making each players play through unique. Whether through choice or random AI or Random missions or classic co-op. A film will never be able to do that meaning that had the player played game X and had a unique experience now the player watched film based on game X and is disappointed because the film was nothing like the experience the player had in game. Games and film are two very differnt forms of entertainment and i feel they should stop trying to be the other. Games want to be movies and movies want to be games.

After the horror of the Doom movie, or as I like to call it "Resident Evil on Mars", I'm very sceptical of movies based from games and vice versa.

Yeah, Doom was a disaster - and its not as if the game didn't have real movie potential to begin with.

Apparently, Uwe Boll - who calls himself the best director in the world and challenged Michael Bay to a boxing match - was planning on making the God of War movie until the people started a petition against it :D

Doom was bad ...but there have been others Like Hitman that was a good adaption ,
Till now most of the movies have been an atempt to cash in on the success of the games ,but studios have realised that and are now trying to be more faithful
one thing to understand is that it is incredibly hard to condense a 10 hr game into a 1 hr movie and still please the fans ,have enough of a narative and still be able to atract others that havent even played the game and make the experiane enjoyable for them as well.

But like its been said the POP movie looks excellant .

Im sure you all know about Tekken coming out this year

Personally thought Hitman movie wasnt bad at all! Who do you guys think would make a cool Kratos? I've given it some thought, but cant think of anyone.

Only game-to-movies that were any good at all was Doom and Silent Hill

Hitman: The actor had such a damn baby face and the character was epicly emo.

RE: Like, whut? Just a poor execution of the whole thing.

Tomb Raider: Ok the 1st was pretty allright, but the others? STOP MILKING!!!

Max Payne: Again, like hitman, wrong actor and the character is just all wrong.
