Games with consequences

Are there any games with proper consequences?

I remember playing Skyrim and delaying saving (possibly I never got to saving them at all) a village under attack by dragons forever. Nothing ever happened. I reckon that the village should have been destroyed after delaying for a certain amount of time.

So are there any games that implement proper consequences?

Didn't one or the Fallouts have a city destroyed by a nuke for a choice you made?

I believe you are thinking of Fallout 3 where you trigger the nuke lying the middle of town?

Fallout2 had full set of consequences for all the major actions you took. Once you complete the game you got a full list of consequences for you actions and the affect it had on the wastes. Probably not what OP was looking for but that is the best I can think of... Iirc some of them were quite strange like if you helped develop the cure for JET addiction you made the problem worse because people stopped being afraid of the drug and a lot of people died.

No game really has that full set of consequences of your actions. There is always some sort of cop-out in every game. The problem is games have to have a start point and an end point. Many games implement various different endpoints, leading to a couple of ways of getting to the end points, but ultimately they all lead down these paths. Especially story driven games. Any game will have "loose" states, where the game tells you that you failed to meet its requirements and you need to try again.

But there are some games that do a great job at providing some form of consequence in the story title. The Fallout franchise has done this well. Witcher 3 as well does give some level of alternative outcomes. There are some choices even in the Deus Ex franchise that can determine and influence later mission. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided did this well. There were some side missions that would impact the main quest and what you got to deal with determined by how you completed the side missions.
