Games with humour

So last night I started playing Bulletstorm. Its a fairly run of the mill but solid shooter but Im really enjoying it because it makes me laugh. Encountered one sequence where I actually had to pause because I was laughing so much!
Its awesome to laugh during a game, happens often with multiplayer modes but very rare in single player campaigns so....

what were some of your funniest moments with a game?

There was one moment in Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time that was really funny. There was an announcement in one of the levels that :"The use of the word redonkulous is strictly prohibited". That was worth a laugh.

When I read the title of the thread, I actually thought of BulletStorm because they did try very hard to make a humorous shooter, they did go a little over the top with the swearing though. I remember reading somewhere that the developers aren't english speaking as a first language, so they didn't realize just how much swearing they were putting into the game.

Although, I must say that the way they use swear words is often really funny

The Monkey Island series, full of humour, Sam and Max. There are a few, Serious Sam had some too

I found Borderlands 2 to be very funny, it has some great dialogue. Portal 2 was also hilarious a lot of the time.

Honorable mention to the GTA and Saints Row series. :)

yeah I've found most humour in games can be found in the adventure genre.

but there are exceptions like bulletstorm, saints row, armed and dangerous, portal (1&2), theme hospital and dungeon keeper, to name but a few.

oh yeah, and Giants: Citizen Kabuto :D

Psychonauts is the funniest game I've ever played.

Some other games that I thought was good for a laugh, if nothing else:
Magicka
Poker Night at the inventory
Hector: Badge of Carnage
Deathspank
Dungeons of Dredmor
Portal 1 and 2
The Bard's Tale
Rag Doll Kung Fu
The Overlord series
DLC Quest

Can't think of anything else right now.

Duke Nukem: 3D.

"It's time to kick ass a chew bubblegum. And I'm all outta gum"
"That's one doomed space marine"
"I ain't afraid of no Quake"
etc etc

I've found the older Fallout titles to be quite humorous. Maybe not in the laugh out loud kind of way, but in that I'll smirk at this clever humour way.

Conkers bad fur day!

Sexual innuendos in the game as well (a male bee saying "oh what he wouldnt give to "pollinate" that flower") and the flower has huge tatas

I love humour in games... or just in general. Very few games have constant humour, but a lot of games have their moments.

Dragon Age 1 (conversations between companions)
The Bard's Tale
Portal 1 + 2
Star Control 3
Orcs Must Die 1 + 2
Saints Row
Armed and Dangerous

Batman (The Joker parts)
Witcher 2 - the part with the dude with the feathers and then you talk about the weather, etc. to talk around the awkwardness... Was funny as hell.

awesome little game! never finished it though

...wonder If I can still get it somewhere

You sir are in luck, I managed to find it the other day. I originally saw the game on Cybernet and was reminded of it some time ago so with a bit of searching I found a restored version. Haven't tried installing it yet (busy with other games currently) but give it a go.

The Neverhood Restoration

If you like Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy type humour check out Startopia. It's even got the narrator from the last few series of the radio show. It's one of those games that I like to play through maybe once a year or so.

Tropico 4 also has some classic humour. One of the better Kalypso games imo. Picked it up and it's expansions when it was 75% off on steam. No regrets.
