Games You Bought and Wish you Had Never Played

I bought Way of the Samurai 3 (PS3) for R600. The worst purchase I have ever made regarding games, the game is extremely outdated and terribly crap. I also had a hard time trying to figure out exactly what was going on and what I was supposed to do. I eventually figured some things out and finished it, in two hours.

Wow....R600 for 2 hours... I'm sure Angry Joe would LOVE to hear that one!

That's one of the dangers with console gaming, games are are expensive, and by extension so are the mistakes we make.
I have a few really bad console games in my collection all of them equally expensive school fees

Call of Duty Black Ops. Might not be the worst game I've played, but it's the only game that I sincerely wish that I could un-buy. I wish I had never bought it.

Expected that :D

To0ken is gonna burn his copy of it on the release day of BF3, i cannot wait for the pics :D

i actually feel MOH was done unjust, it actually was enjoyable for me, i found BO to be repetitive and pointless, same sh1t, different day, mind you i had fun times but more fustrations than the latter, personally i feel i wasted my money with Homefront, it was an impulsive purchase too....very

other than that i only really regret getting Homefront and slightly BO for lack of originality...

other games like fallout new vegas made me smile so much, well worth every penny :)

Homefront and Frontlines
We bought 2 Copies for servers, 3 Limited Editions for Staff and 4 Limited Editions to give away

I am so glad I managed to resist that one.
I also regret getting Black Ops, due to the fact that I paid R500 to essentially get pissed off for a month. On the other hand I actually really digged MoH (the second time I played it)

Dead Space? Why because you messed yourself?
Strange to have Dead Space on that list, you are gonna wee on Xero's battery if you say it's a bad game.

Xbox360: WRC Rally champs - Worst.Graphics.EVER! Even Dirt1 looks WAAAAY better.

Fable2: I said I would buy myself an Xbox360 JUST to play Fable2 as Fable1 was one of my all time favourite games. To be fair, Fable2 is a very good game, but play it before you play #1 and you'll not be let down. No epic looking armor, no epic looking weapons, crappy demon doors, crappy silver keys.

Fable3: See above. (I don't learn, do I?)

Skate2: I played for about 5mins then got over it.

PC: Sacred2: It just doesn't feel anywhere near as smooth as Titan Quest / Dungeon Siege does.

Gran Tourismo 5 Prologue: It felt lame and unpolished.

Gran Tourismo 5: Too much hype. Forza3 blows it out of the water, despite being older.

Dragon Age Origins: I played for about an hour. It may not be fair to put this one on the list, because my MMO addiction tore me away from SP games, so due to no fault of the DAO, I just haven't played it yet.

FarCry2: FarCry1 was crazy awesome! FarCry2 felt equally awesome for the first 100 times that you drove across the map and cleared rebel points to get from A to B...after that I got over it.

^this. Farcry 2. Awesome start to one of the drabbiest games ever created. At a later stage, animals would just sprint in front of your Jeep, for no apparant reason at all, except to make you feel bad. Enemies would respawn instantly as soon as you clear 400m, and if you are in the middle of the bush, with NO enemies nearby in miles, and let a shot off, with a SILENCED smg, music will start playing, building up, until...

until f$#%l happens. What a dissapointment that was. Digged the fire. That's it.

Also, and this doesn't quite count, it was bought for me, but Homefront.
Homefront is like kissing your grandfather. Open mouth. Withough teeth. And he likes it. :/

I enjoyed Farcry two simply becuase I could go out into the bush and kill a load of people in a limited but fun way
I never did complete it as you can only shoot guys in the legs, set them on fire and them watch them flounder around for so long before you realize that it may indicate that there is something actually wrong with you.

Another game I thought would be Awesome but I never really got into was Titan's Quest
It had an awesome premise, brillinat scope for gameplay and yet it lacked the character that Diablo 2 captured.

I bought Sniper: Ghost Warrior for PS3 today, bad mistake. It's not that bad of a game, but the bullshit AI makes it super frustrating. I have never gotten so pissed off with a game in such a short amount of time. I get killed every single time before I even see where I'm being shot from. Should have listened to the PC and X360 reviews, but the developers promised that they would fix the issues - that obviously didn't happen. Maybe I just suck at the game, but I'm not giving it another chance, I nearly threw my controller through my TV. There goes another R435 bucks down the drain, at least I can trade it in and get a little bit of my money back. :(

Well I was actually thinking of picking that up for 360, lol, glad you stopped by and shared, but is the AI simply handicapped or is it unworkable?

It wasn't the least bit as frightening as advertised. The gameplay clunky and dull, the story is cheap, buggy as hell with no patches released to fix known issues.

Their targeting is just plain BS. They can shoot you from a mile away with an assualt rifle or whatever before you can even see them. I don't even know the enemies are there then I get shot and killed and I'm supposed to be Sniper who kills without being seen. Like I said, it's possible that I just suck at the game but I think this explains why it has a Metacritic of 45 on X360. Another thing I found irritating is the invisible walls that I came across. A couple of times I tried to crouch underneath something or walk around a few rocks only to be stopped dead in my tracks. I was actually really looking forward to this (enjoyed Sniper Elite back in the day), but the AI makes it impossibly difficult which in turn leads to me getting furious.

I never had any of these issues on the PC.

I guess you we're lucky then because I'm not the only one that experienced this. PC gets slightly better on Metacritic, but not much.

Like I said initially, it's not that bad a game. The sniping is awesome, but it's not worth the annoying AI and other bugs, etc.

EDIT: This dude pretty much sums up almost exactly how I feel about the game after playing for about 2 hours:
