Hahaha, Yeah unreal 2 was such a boring piece of garbage. I don't think there will ever be a third one and I think the unreal franchise has closed its doors. :p

That's the spirit :). Likely they delayed the game just to ensure that you will be able to play it in all it's finery upon release :)
