Games you wish you could replay.

So because we are living beings and subsequently have recall of the things we've experienced (especially fond ones) I want to know from the MyG community if there any games/movies/music you wish you could experience all over again as if it were your first time.

Some experiences and memories are just hard to beat and sets the bar for everything else in the medium. I think is pretty much what has happened to me with gaming... I'm pretty jaded.

Games I wish I could re experience..

Ico, SOTC, Half life 2, FF7, Vagrant Story, Chrono Trigger

Movies I wish I could rewatch:

The Big Lebowski, LOTR trilogy, Pulp fiction, Saving Private Ryan, Four Rooms, Harry Potter Movies, Edward Scissorhands etc etc! Community series, The Walking Dead, Game of thrones

What would you like to re experience if your memory was totally erased?

Just realised this is basically what is your favourite XYZ thread phrased differently...

Okay lets rather say what games do you wish you could spend more time on to experience it fully?

Yeah sorry, saw you mentioned movies, thought it was broader hehe. I'd wanna play cod:mw again for the first time, especially the stealth/sniper sections...epic stuff :)

Seeing as you are the sum of your experiences, if your memory was erased who's to say that you'd still enjoy the same things? Still, assuming that my personality stays the same after a memory wipe, I suppose I wouldn't mind finding a list of games to play that goes like this:

Jagged Alliance & XCOM
Mass Effect
Baldurs Gate

Aw heck, pretty much every game I've ever listed in a favourite XYZ list...

Still, I've found that getting older and forgetting things isn't all bad. I recently fired up Commandos 1 & 2 and realized I've forgotten the majority of the game. Quite looking forward to having a go at that again because it really does feel like I'm doing it for the first time... or rather, more specifically, like I'm playing a new expansion with new levels :)

Also any good game with minimal replayability (is that even a word??), like Monkey Island. Discovering those answers/jokes the first time is awesome...but everything, no matter how good, will get old with enough repetition. So yea, add Monkey island series (not the 3rd crap, that doesn't count) to my "list" :p

For gaming:

I wish I could re-experience the first time I got Quake 3 working and playing on my very first PC. I saved up a few months allowance to buy 64 MB RAM to add to my PC just to be able to play it. I remember the very first time I booted it, and how I felt. Seeing that game, playing it for the first time, that was probably the defining moment I became a gamer.

Some other games I wish I could rediscover are Counter Strike, Unreal Tournament, GTA 2, Flight Simulator 95, Medal Of Honour (the very first one). All these games had a big impact and I wish I could relive those moments I first started playing them.

For Movies:

Star Wars. The first time I saw that movie, I knew I would be a fan for all my life. I remember sitting in front of the TV on the ground, I was probably 7 or 8 years old, and watching the very first movie for the first time. I was mesmerized.

There's so many but I'll only list a few.

Games
Diablo II Lord of Destruction
Silent Hill 2
Bioshock Infinite
Mass Effect series
The Walking Dead (Telltale)

TV Shows
Lost
Enterprise

Movies
American Beauty
The Matrix
Lost in Translation
Donnie Darko

I wish Diablo 2 had a thriving online SA community the way Twilight hosted servers back in 2008

I wish those guys that hosted the twilight servers kept it going, and kept updating it etc... I played warcraft 3 and Dota on those severs to death...

Games i would love to replay... The Portal series springs to mind... Its amazing as a first time experience because often the second play through you remember things, and how to solve the puzzles... But over all I have to say that Final Fantasy 8 for me would be an amazing first time experience "again"... To be honest I want to say FF 7,8,9, but of the three 8 was the best for me...

Dead Space 2
The Withcer series
Assassin's Creed Series
Uncharted Series
Portal Series
Spec Ops: The Line
Max Payne Series

I'm sure there is a bunch more games I would love to experience for the first time again, but that's all I can think of now.

wish i could experience the first time i booted dead or alive 4 and project gotham racing 3 in my xbox 360 console back in early December 2006

I never saw more realistic games back then and it made all other ps2 and pc games i had looking like they're from the stone age. and that was on a 75cm CRT TV we couldnt afford lcd flatscreens back then they were too expensive.

also half life back in 1998, i received a pirate copy from a friend (ripped by class :o) and i was in awe by its graphics and that was on a pentium 133 with 32 megs of ram and a 4mb ati rage pro pci graphics card

Reminds me of Unreal 1....damn, bought the game, got home, installed....ran like a stop motion movie being filmed...
Remember, tried every update from nVidia (had a TNT 1 with Intel 200MMX, 32mb memory...) remember getting every new nvidia detonator driver release, or whatever they were called, promising game performance increase...lol riiiiiiiiiight.

Had to wait till I got a P2 400Mhz, OCd to 450Mhz (via dip switches), worked a charm.

That Unreal music really added to the game, also an awesome game. Makes me think of the game Incoming....damn it looked awesome for its time...
