Gamespot's transsexual fiasco

So Gamespot recently put up their video review for LA Noire and, as per usual, the cruelty of the Internet's faceless hordes ripped the reviewer, a transsexual named Carolyn Petit, a new one.

IMHO it's a dick move (no pun, for serious) to rag her for having the guts to put up a video of herself; heck, it's actually one of the best reviews I've seen from the usually biased Gamespot. She even talks about the flames very frankly on her personal blog.

The worst part is that this paints a sad image of gamers today with the majority of people posting comments along the lines of, "I dont want to be bombarded with gay/lesbian/transgender stuff on a gaming website, just have a regular guy or woman reviewing the games." Not exactly doing any favours for a sect of people who get enough flak as it is.

Opinions? Flames?

Game looks really orsum. Will see if anyone gets it for me birfday, otherwise I will get it next week sometime.
 
Oh, as for the reviewer, whatever. Ja, his voice is seriously naff, but who cares? It is a well scripted review and very informative. I have no issue whatsoever. If he fluffed (see what I did there :D ) the interview, then I would criticise, but he hasn't, so kudos.
 
shit like this just passes me by, it's not my place to judge folks on their choices.

I can't stand those ridiculously nasal fem accents but Carolyn Petit's voice isn't nails-on-chalkboard so I don't mind it.

To give you an example, Feargus Urquhart:
Who is straight and has two kids. Although his voice grates me, I dig him uber muchos grandes :D
 
Ok I don't quite know whether or not to refer to the person as a he/she but Petit presented a pretty cool review, it makes me look forward to getting LA Noire even more. :)

bwahaha waited long to say that. Anyways, if these people don't want to be "flamed" then it's their problem. To be honest, they're doing it to themselves. Some of them probably even did it FOR the attention in the first place. I'm a Christian, so I you'll know that I don't approve of these people's actions. I think it's sad. Yeah, people shouldn't flame them - but then again, they're asking for it.

i'm a Christian aswell, but not the borderline kind, being a gamer aswell has helped me to develop a more open mindset. while things like this still make go eh... it was that persons choice and not my place to judge.

asking for it? no i don't think so. the people who launch the flames are borderline idiots. bigots really.

A she yes but physically still a he or is she a she physically too having had ops and drugs leaving no trace of the he that she once was. Physically a he that is since she was always was a she never a he.

I also like to think myself a Christian. Whilst I know I'm far from perfect and may not always agree with other people's choices, it is their choice to make. It is not for me to judge and I try not to. And though sometimes people's choices do invite certain responses or actions from others, it does not condone those responses or actions. So this individual chose to be transsexual, it does not give you the right to criticise or belittle them. Grow up and maybe look at yourself and your imperfections first...
