Hi there,

We have setup a Gamezone World at War Vietnam mod server.
196.2.128.106:29000

The mod has a lot of extras for the fifth installment of the Call of Duty series, World at War. It is based on the very poplar Openwarfare mod and brings a wealth of enhancements, from game types to new guns, including the infamous AK47.

The maps have new textures and maps make you feel like you are playing in a different campaign and the jungle theme of Vietnam creates a whole different atmosphere than the dirt and grime ridden buildings that we are all used to.

For the admins the mod opens up a host of configurations for the server, so you can tweak just about anything. Bouncing betties can be set to be more realistic and detonate for anyone, friend or foe and hardpoint (Recon plane, Artillery, Dogs) can be enabled/disabled.

The maps are between 30mb and 45mb each and are all downloadable from the gamezone server. All the maps are available in a single download from the Gamezone FTP on:

For those of us that know how to setup the maps you can download the mod files for the Gamezone server and set them up as well:

For those that are not so technical or just don't want to sit with the headache of manual install there is some great news too. You can just connect to the server and the game will download the needed files and put them in the right folders. That is normal but what makes this server great is that you get to download the mod files at your full line speed. It is not throttled in any way, as the default download settings can make connecting to the server a bit of a tedious affair.
From my experience Gamezone is the only servers that offer the full line speed downloads, which makes it much simpler and convenient for the players.

I downloaded the mod now, it rocks. It's really awesome :D

All those that still maybe want to play COD WAW, the NAM mod is WORTH IT!
 
Definitely worth it. :)

Me and Frequency had a few matches to test out the server the night I put it up and it was great fun. You will be blinded by it's pure awesomeness. ;)

Anyone is welcome to book the server for a night. Won't even charge for it. ;)
Hehehe. Bookings are made on the gamezone forums though...

How about a few of the mygaming guys taking another pickup team?

Both the FTP and the gameserver is local, so you can download it locally. :)

I would suggest that you let the game download it for you, unless you know your way around the mods. ;)

**Edit**
You still need to authenticate to international servers in game but if you are running something like Route Sentry it'll come off your local account.
 
The mod is cool, but I've never seen anyone in the sever unfortunately. I would love to try it out sometime...
 
Need help with Vietnam mod. Downloaded the 400+mb mod. but when I access the vietnam server it still wants to download a 106mb file.

Is it the map cause i assumed it will be part of the big download?
Or is it just the installation i did wrong?
 
OK Nevermind... I reinstalled the mod with default location and it works. Looks nice. Now just to get peeps to play against.
