Gaming: Are you dangerously addicted?

yeesh i still get that sometimes, you enjoy a game so much you completely zone out and miss the passage of time.

most recently was DA:O played what felt like an hour, was more like 10... :(

Lord of the rings online was my vice. Played that game for at least 20 hours per day for a good long time. I have never played it again and don't plan to ever. :/

LOL. At least it's not, um, chemical or anything like that. And hey, it's not illegal either.

When I look back to my days of being a 12 year old, I'll admit, my social disappeared when my mother bought me Final Fantasy VIII and the same thing happened when Final Fantasy X came out. Thankfully, I grew up a bit after that.

My most serious transgression was to start playing Dragon Age on a Saturday afternoon.....and wonder how it got so dark and so late so quickly.

I think I can pawn you all with this:)

At a stage we would get home from school and on a Friday afternoon, go buy the latest title out and play it through the weekend. Myself and 1 of my mates even bunked school on Monday's so we could jam the games till they were finished. When I say we played games for 50+ hours on a "weekend" I mean that..no sleep no going out just gaming:(

Obviously we didn't do it every weekend but at a stage our parents even tried to intervene by stopping us from visiting each other.

Things change though, I can't see myself gaming now for a whole weekend..I would die, wouldn't be able to work or function at all:)

Each year I am experiencing less and less of these 'time skips' while gaming.

Before I could sit for hours on end, not even noticing the time as it flew by. Nowadays however, all I can stomach in a sitting is about 2hrs before I feel strong psychical need for a 30min break, then I can hit it again. Playing online I have been known to really push it in the past, but that had less to do with me enjoying my gaming time, but more about remaining competitive. Maybe age has something to do with this change of pace?

Same here. Can't sit and play for hours any more.

Those kids who ratted out game companies are just trolling. Lol.

Btw, http://www.gamespot.com/news/6152141.html

A psychiatric ward for gaming addiction. This is getting ridiculous. I've been a gaming addict. When I started playing WoW and for a year and a half after I hardly saw the sun, but god damnit I'm not blaming anyone other than myself. And I don't really regret it, I regret having a social life though.

Too much of a good thing will eventually be bad for you.
That goes for every thing, not just games.
