Gaming Build. Advice?

Need some help guys.

I was recommended the following from Joker:

ASROCK Z170 Extreme4, LGA1151
http://www.rebeltech.co.za/lga1151/10739-asrock-z170-extreme4-lga1151-intel-z170-chipset-atx-asrock-z170-extreme4-intel-z170-lga1151-4x-dual-channel-ddr4-3200-oc-6x-sata.html

GIGABYTE Z170X-Gaming 3
http://www.rebeltech.co.za/lga1151/10758-gigabyte-z170x-gaming-3-intel-z170-chipset-lga1151-atx-gigabyte-z170x-gaming-3-ga-z170x-gaming3-intel-z170-lga1151-4x-dual-chann.html

I have no idea which to go with. I'm getting an i7 6700k and would eventually like to overclock to hopefully around 4.5Ghz.

I have read that the gigabyte board has vroop problems and asrock board has Vcore problems :/

I wouldn't buy a krait board over what I recommended that's for sure. spleenpoker The M5 is quite a bit more expensive and I promise you that ASRock offers all the bells and whistles for less money.

Thanks Joker. I am very interested in the Asrock board but am very anxious about the Core overshoot problems and the DDR4 problems it has over 2900mhz

Also can you recommend me a case to go with al lthis

Busy replying to your pm's now bud.

Also I see the M5 is actually on sale at the moment.

I would definitely take that board.

I'm settling on the 6600k. Do you guys think I'll be able to overclock it to at least 4.3Ghz easily?

I've oc'd a few of them and didn't have issues getting to 4.5Ghz. You'll be fine with 4,3Ghz unless you get a really poor chip, which is highly unlikely so far into production.

I have the Z97 extreme6 from asrock and overclocked my i5 4690k to 4.2GHz with a Vcore of 1.2V and it is 100% stable. You wont go wrong it the extreme4.

So I came into a little bit more money this weekend and was just tinkering around with a new build. Thoughts, advice and recommendation please :)

Mobo: GIGABYTE Z170X-Gaming 5
Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4-3000
CPU: i7 6700k
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2
Case: Cooler Master MasterCase 5 Pro
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 850w

Going to be overclocking to 4.5GHz. Will also probably put a GTX 1070 in there as well.

Advice on whats overkill or parts I should spend a bit more on for something better?

Also just how loud can I expect the H100i v2 to be?

Thanks guys :)

IMHO you're overspending on the case. Are you going to watercool or run some LED lightshow inside your case?

http://www.rebeltech.co.za/midi-tow...midi-tower-windowed-side-panel-black-no-.html

Cheaper and has better airflow

Yeah I was thinking I might be spending too much on the case. Just going with the AIO cooler and no LEDS

I'm thinking of replacing the case and AIO cooler with these:

Phanteks Enthoo Pro M

Phanteks PH-TC14PE

Only because I hear AIO coolers are sooo loud and I'm just going for a mild overclock

Since you're air cooling, take the below into account

The basic idea is to get the flow into and out of your case right and to ensure that it is as unobstructed as possible.

AIO coolers are only loud if you set them to be loud, they have quiet modes that are perfectly fine to use when overclocking.
Huge air coolers bring their own problems to the party, for example it might not clear your ram, it may bump your ram while installing causing a crack/dimm slot lifting ect (this may seem like a small issue but I assure you it's a pain in the ass)

I would still recommend you use the case I suggested:
http://www.rebeltech.co.za/midi-tow...s1-kwyn-04-midi-tower-windowed-side-pane.html

Also save some money and rather get this psu
http://www.rebeltech.co.za/620w-760...ps12v-v291-and-atx-12v-v231-80-plus-gold.html

You'll never need 850 or even 750w for that matter with your build. The GTX1070 is incredibly efficient.

Thanks for the advice. What AIO cooler do you recommend for a 6700k OC'd to 4.5?

I'd prefer to get a 6600k and overclock it to 4.5 but I'm not sure if it will be easy for a first time overclocker

Also whats a recommended mouse and keyboard? Then I'm done!

Edit: Whats easier to OC to 4.5, a 6600k or 6700k?

Both the i5 and i7 will clock the same (Same settings, little play with voltage ect).
If you're going for a gaming rig (Which I'm sure you are) I would recommend getting the i5 6600K.

As far as coolers go:

If you want something that's easily controllable in windows ect I would recommend going for corsair.

Personally I love this cooler...and it's big brother...unfortunately they can be a little loud.
http://www.rebeltech.co.za/cpu-cool...40xl-rl-n14x-20pk-r1-cpu-water-cooling-u.html

This is the cooler I use and I'm running a 5930K @ 4.6Ghz (6 cores) and it's perfectly fine at coping with the heat even in quiet mode.

Keyboard and mouse will be difficult to recommend.
I'd say go for a mech keyboard

http://www.rebeltech.co.za/keyboard...k3-wired-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-cher.html

http://www.rebeltech.co.za/keyboard...-kb-460-us-wired-mechanical-gaming-keybo.html

http://www.rebeltech.co.za/home/113...ech-g410-atlas-specturm-920-007736-wired.html

Mouse wise I would opt for something like these:

http://www.rebeltech.co.za/mice/374...10-004346-wired-optical-mouse-200-2500dp.html

http://www.rebeltech.co.za/mice/986...-g302-daedulus-prime-910-004208-wired-de.html

http://www.rebeltech.co.za/mice/373...ng-m65-ch-9000113-wired-fps-laser-gaming.html

It all depends on what you want to spend and what you're looking for in your peripherals.

If it does fit, how do I arrange the airflow?

It all depends on what you want to spend and what you're looking for in your peripherals.

Thanks. I will research the rest. Just my last question.

Will this AIO cooler fit in the case you recommended me?
