So apparently gaming can make a better world.

So how much time have you spent on games?

Or if you want to read the actual article...

....Right now we spend three billion hours a week playing online games. Some of you might be thinking, "That's a lot of time to spend playing games." Maybe too much time, considering how many urgent problems we have to solve in the real world. But actually, according to my research, at The Institute For The Future, it's actually the opposite is true. Three billion hours a week is not nearly enough game play to solve the world's most urgent problems....

If you do read the article what do you think about the ideas she is bringing forward?

Some interesting ideas presented there. I think the key step, and the most difficult is getting gamers to use their talents/skills in the real world environment. What would be interesting to see is examples of any hardcore gamers have been employed for the skills they have developed through gaming.

My first though was Lol. But she definately brings a few points forward.

Reminds me of a study that was done several years back to test reflexes in people when faced in situations of panic.

The study concluded that those who'd played GTA before were more likely to jump out of the way if an oncoming car was about to hit them as opposed to being a deer caught in headlights.

Could be interesting where they go with this. Maybe someday standard CVs will have a gaming section, indicating various skills arising from it.
