Gaming laptop suggestions please

I need to buy a new laptop for school. Are there any that are actually good gaming performers? the one I have now is pretty useless, but it has onboard graphics. Any suggestions would be great. I need to stay below $1500.
 
that US$ or rands?
Cause I think I might have a deal for you if it's around 10 grand

This is quite nice, should do the trick. R16999 excl. I am looking at one of these for lans. Should be getting one quite soon. The only thing i will be changing is the hdd to ssd. It has a Raid controller onboard so might get 2x 256gig and run raid0. What you think?
 
Eeck $1500, you lucky bastid!!!

If you are planning on buying it in the States i suggest you look at the Dell XPS1730, they are really good quality machines and they preform awesomely with games!
