Gaming moments that you don't like

Every single escort mission, ever.

So true, by the end of it you just want to kill the retard your escorting anyway!!

Also all these sadly useless rugby games, when you up the difficulty level it just drops your player stats instead of actually making the opposition more skillful...get tackled lose ruck-turnover every single time!!!

  • Kill X amount of Enemies before a door continently opens.
  • Feeble attempts at prolonging gameplay by attaching pointless & poorly conceived Multiplayer component.
  • Games that Cheat or spawn an increasing number of super armoured enemies that need 3 direct RPG hits to go down, yes Ninja Gaiden 2 & Uncharted 2 I'm looking right at you.
  • Driving sections in action titles where the vehicle handles like a turd in a river.
  • Using Quicktime events as a Crutch.
  • Inconsistent Narrative Elements or glaring holes in an established mythos.
  • Morality systems where your option are; Mother Teresa Good or Hitler Evil.
  • Calculations Masquerading as Choice.

Those are my top ones although Unskippable Cutscenes & Laughably bad acting does rate high.

I approve of this list!

+9999999999

Also Unskippable Intro's.
Or those moments where games use checkpoints, or boss battles where you die the whole time and you have to watch a movie upon reloading. That makes me pee my jean pant.

Im definitely with Murph on this one.......ESCORT missions you suck !!!!
Quick times events are at the top of my list.
There are very few things that will make me uninstall or trade in a game, but this is one of them. When I cannot get past the very first boss in a game because I lack the coordination to hammer a certain sequence of buttons at exactly the right speed, and spend more than 15 minutes trying, I am inclined to look elsewhere for my gaming fix.

I enjoy cut scenes in general, and I couldn't spot bad acting, plot holes, superficial characters if they jumped out and kicked me inna panty.

Number two on my list would be DRM that takes the form of an always-on internet connection. At certain times in the year, my internet connection will yo-yo erratically for a few weeks before becoming stable again....

3. Perfect happy endings. Victory is seldom without cost, and can be bittersweet - Pyrrhic even.

The only thing worse than unskippable cutscenes are cutscenes you can't pause. It always pans out the same way:

1. Phone rings during important, unrepeatable cutscene.
2. Patient waiting in the hopes that annoying ringing will eventually stop.
3. Ringing doesn't stop.
4. TV volume turned down, phone answered, cutscene badly lip-read.

Oh yes, that always happens to me. Something happens that causes me to miss the damn scene. Can ruin a whole game.

Try with a baby, same thing, though ignoring baby crying generally involves wife beating me :-(.
Unskippable cut-scenes two games horrible for that were Star Trek - Shattered Universe and Call of Duty 3, no I don't want to watch the cut-scene over and over, especially when you make the enemies spawn continuously until I die and have to watch that cut scene again and again... That game actually almost made me fling my controller at the screen.

Lupus I feel your pain.......I have a 3 month at home

My wife also has this dirty habit of wanting to speak when the cutscene just starts

Does playing a trilogy of a game and getting attached to a story and characters and getting a blegh ending count?

I'm not sure... That is kind-of a new thing. I suppose we'll have to wait for that company to make another trilogy so that there is a repeatable trend in order to categorize it on its own.

Punting how our choice would make a diffrence in the ending, in the end its the same ending no matter what your choices you made.

Boring quick time events I normaly watch my character die a few times just for fun and to say fu and then when I am bored with that I will press the button.
