Let us take a look at last week's gaming news making headlines, with a quick roundup of the most talked about news stories. These I found were not covered in detail on the MyGaming website, so here you are; stay informed!!
Nintendo Up's the product of Switches to 25 -30 million
In a very bold statement, Nintendo has said that they will be producing almost 30 million consoles within next year. Thats a huge amount, and may be a sign that the Big N is either way overestimating the demand for the console, or they are planning even bigger things for next year that will see more consoles being sold
The Star Wars Battlefront 2 40 hour controversy
A Youtuber played the early access version of BF2, and found that with the pay-outs of credits per game, it would take about 40 hours of game time to unlock just one hero. This blew up, and the developers of the game responded to the controversy on Reddit. From the link you can see that the reply was severly downvoted. The grind is real in SW:BF2 and the devs are trying to sweet talk themselves out of it.
Telltale Games lays off 90 staff
Sad news for the developer as about a quarter of the company got the boot during last week. The reason for this restructure as stated by Telltale has been to "make the company more competitive as a developer and publisher of groundbreaking story-driven gaming experiences with an emphasis on high quality in the years ahead." Which is corporate speak for we want to cut cost and make more money...
CD Project Red may return to the Witcher universe, just not with a new Witcher game
Good news for all the Witcher 3 fans, CDPR has stated that they may go back to that world to create some spin-off style game. Could be interesting as they have really created a special world, and would be a shame not to use it again.
