Two thirds of British men would rather play with themselves
2 April 2009 11:38 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

1 in 3 British men would prefer to play video games than sleep with their partner, with 72% claiming they'd shun their missus for the night to play a new release.

From a study of 1130 British men, of those in relationships, 32% that said they would prefer to play video games gave reasons ranging from their "partner being hard to please" to the prospect being "not as much fun" as gaming.

Further cementing the sad truth about video game addiction in the British male, 41% said if they were given £50, they'd spend it on a video game.

So which is it dudes? Gaming or girlfriends?

Meh, I'd rather get some sweet lovin' than play games. You can fire up the console or PC any time, but when a woman's keen, she's KEEN. Try turning that off when it's ready to play.

Or you could always get the best of both worlds and pull a Pablo Francisco: have an Xbox controller tattooed onto her lower back. Muah haha.

I thought we game BECAUSE we don't have gf's ?

Nah kidding - as with everything there should be balance and moderation. I see gaming as a hobby and a pass time.

If you don't WANT to spend more time with your girlfriend, then you obviously have the wrong girl.

Girlfriend...

I've kind of stopped playing games the past couple of months. Only play a game of cod4 now and then.

Games these days just don't attract me anymore, seems out of ever 100 games i play one will have a good storyline for me to follow or interesting enough to finish. Other games I finish just because the thing is to short(fear 2)

My PC IS my girlfriend. :p
;)

Quoted for the truth!

My PC has never broken my heart before, always fires up when I need it too and gives me pleasure ALWAYS...

Try THAT with a woman?

On the flipside, I would like a girlfriend that is a gamer :D
