Why don't We create a thread were we ask the people on the forum to join your "gaming party" for a specific title, for example I'll ask if anyone here wants to play tf2 with me? Then you guys post which time you'll be online etc.

Thought it would be appropriate as stickie :)

So to start of, any one here want to play cod4 with me sometime?

I've been thinking of creating a thread for online 'meet-ups' for a while now, so people can schedule events, competitions for certain games or times they're going to be playing a specific game, then I post the times up in the OP so people can join in if they see other people meeting , but laziness and lack of time has prevented me so far. That and the fact that if I can't get to my PC or the internet for a few days the thread will pretty much be dead until I can get to it again.

Add them as friends on steam start game spam invites 1 may join or nobody joins normaly so gave up on it. Then again this was in lfd2 time.

I actually set up a Steam group, called the Multiplayer Club, for this exact purpose but then like you said, laziness and other things got in the way. It was going to be for organising multiplayer sessions of games which were fun but maybe not so popular which made games hard to find. Or helping to organise co-op sessions for older games and the like.

Using the new Steam group function you could post discussion topics about games you were looking to find people to play with and we could send out announcements for 'play days'. In conjunction with a forum topic it might work.

If anyone is interested in doing this I could put some effort into it.

Yeah, I also specifically had more niche games in mind. Like the other day I wanted to get a game of AvP Classic 2000 going, but I don't know anyone who owns the game, much less who would want to play such an old game.

I'd be interested!

Well the group is public so join it and get your mates to join. Then if enough people are interested we can start doing things.
