Im curious to know how this community approaches gaming with kids. My 5 year old absolutely loves shooting and blowing $41t up. I have tried limiting this to shooting aliens and what ever else isn't human or actually roams the earth and doesn't involve huge amounts of gore (zombies included). However I am not sure if such games are any good for him in terms of his development and ability to understand what is going.
We do have Lego games but he tends to get bored of these pretty quickly. World of tanks is another title that he enjoys but interest has dropped over the past few weeks.
I thought I would Google how this gameplay affects kids but I pretty much read what I already knew - VIOLENT GAMES ARE BAD. But for every article like this I could always find the polar opposite
