EDIT: Everyone start a car pool service and if the popo pull you over and say you're outstanding in payment, you can say you're a taxi and you're exempt from paying.

Our petrol is nearly R11 per litre, so now they expect us to pay this shit on top of that.
They are fucking clueless, so a extra R550 for the frequent-user cap, that means my traveling costs go from R2500 pm to over R3000 pm, not to mention the impact this will have on the prices of food...

It would have been ok if we had good public transport, but we don't so we are forced to use our own cars.

This fucking goverment is seriously run by the most clueless dumb fucks I have ever seen in my life.

Good luck to them though, I won't pay it..I won't pay the fines either, I am pretty sure most of the people feel this way.
What they gonna do? Arrest 80% of the motorists? lol
 
Also add 28c to the fuel levy, thats before any of the oil and currency kak thats been going on.

And before anyone starts thinking this doesn't affect you, Heavy trucks will be charged over R1 per kilometer and they bring all our food to the shops. Hello food inflation.

Let's work with his theory a bit, so if you are affluent and don't use a taxi and voted for the ANC - how will the toll system know not to charge you?

I believe we needed a upgrade and yes it should be paid for, But you should have a choice in the matter. The other roads are terrible so you have no choice but to use it. I don't like the fact that taxis are exempt because they over load the taxis and the weight of the taxis contribute more to the damage on the road than me in my little car.

If I carpool with 2 other mates that means that I am also public transport and should there for be exempt to paying ?

It is traveling almost 100Km a day for me and i will be passing about 4 of these tol gates. So i will almost definitely hit the R550 cap .

Another quick fact is that if you dont pay you will eventually get a summons of court for you not paying.

They cant send you 1 saying you have to pay the following amount.

They need to give you a summons for every day for every tollgate that you pass through. So I hit 8 to and from work

So they need to send me 8 for a day and on Saturdays I have to take my Gf to Wits so that is another 5-6 .

so they will have to send me a total off 200 for 1 month,

The legal fees will exceed the R550 they make from me. So they are screwed if people dont pay haha

probably for the 1st time ever, i'm with the union, cosatu on this one - they will strike to put a stop to this, or at least try

i will not be buying an e-tag until i get my 1st fine for not having one
 
I spoke to one of our tax consultants today and even he said it was just another excuse for the government to make money off it's people. Another thing they don't have is the resources and the man power to maintain this infrustructure. If people don't pay then the government gets screwed over for not only wasting money, but their fine system will collapse.
