Gay romances confirmed for Mass Effect 3

If its one of those things based on decisions where you have to try get it to happen no 'sensitive' people should be scarred in any way. Theoretically.

I personally welcome this these choices, regardless of whether I utilize them or not. Anything that adds depth to a world (and this would) is welcome in my books.

Sure, people can, and will get upset, but the same goes for violence and such (but we all know that violence is deemed more socially "acceptable"). Maybe if they started having more gay relationships and such in general media people would become more accepting / desensitized to the idea, and less likely to get upset? However, there is the whole religion skew to, which I refuse to touch.

That is all.

Tinman needs an award:p

But you approve of lesbian sex ?

Sent from the MyGaming iPhone App

No I dont approve of that either...

Of course he does. By now it is quite obvious he is a bigot and probably insecure in his own sexuality.

How am I insecure of my own sexuality please ellaborate??

But why?

I mean what have they done to you to make you so agro towards them?

Like I said I'm not homophobic and im not agro either, I'm just saying that I don't approve of it and I sure as hell shouldn't have to explain myself when all I need to say is that I don't approve.

But you can't go around saying you don't approve with out a reason.

Bioware seems to be obsessed with gayness in their games.personally i don't give a shit as long as the rest of the story is good.

Ok I was raised in a religious family and like I said to graal in PM, we were brought up to see it as a bad thing because the way of life was never designed that way, and I see the logical side of it which I see it as being wrong regardless.

EDIT: and no I'm not bringing religion into this so don't try it... I'm just stating the values in which my family brought me up in.

Oh wow thats just SAD!!!!!!. Honestly no offence to homosexuals but I'm sorry Gay romance in game now!! That's just wrong on all levels, whether it's lesbian or gay, it's a bad influence on Kids!!

Kids shouldn't be playing mass effect. Its rated 18+ by pegi and 17+ by esrb, its for adults not kids. Its not aimed at kids so get of your prudish high horse.

Also if you disapprove you do know the romances and gay/lesbain romances are optional. Don't use them if they offend you.

This hardly the first time bioware has used gay/lesbain romances.

Personally I welcome sex in games. This bs bias that sex is taboo but violence is ok is the biggest bs in the gaming community imho, all comes from the way american society views things.

Don't think there is gay romances allowed in dragon age one as morgain is liking me 100%, but no nookie yet :(

There is with the other female and gay with the elf. but morrigan and alistair are only straight.:D

Yeah, cause when you were eleven you always did what your parents said and obeyed them to a fault? If you honestly believe 11 year old's aren't seeing/playing/doing things they aren't supposed to, then you need to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. I'm not condoning it, just saying it is happening everywhere and probably your kids will as well one day or have already.

But I do agree as well that kids under the age of 18 shouldn't be exposed to sex scenes, gay or otherwise, to violence etc, because they are still extremely impressionable at those ages and sometime more so as they get older as their innocence slowly disappears and they become curious.

That is not us mature gamers or developers problem. That is the parents problem. There is no way content shouldn't be allowed just cause some parents can't handle their kids.

Ok fair enough. :)

By god. How the hell can your sexual preference be 'unacceptable'?

Let me state it this way. You like cats more than you like dogs. I find this unacceptable and WRONG. Exact same fucking thing.

Being FORCED to like both a cat and dogs is wrong. If I don't want gay relationships in a game, I want the option to turn it off, simple as that.

That "los lappie" song comes to mind :p

Feeling is mutual :D

Kreia is still my favourite game (and companion) character of all time.

The most awesome and most useless game character/companion ever has to be Murray the Skull from Monkey Islandâ„¢. :D But yeah - Kreia was a bit of a mindf***, I'll give her that.

Yeh but a male have sex with another male is revolting, but like I say I find it unacceptable and you don't so just leave it at that...

How could it be revolting if it's behind closed doors and a matter between 2 people? I wouldn't want to see overweight people bumping uglies, but I don't judge them for being in love. I'd rather look at a gay couple holding hands than a morbidly obese hetero couple doing so.

Cool, so seeing as we're not to bring religion into this, we'll discuss it in an evolutionary parentheses. (And if not, then godiditâ„¢ will suffice)

Homosexual Behaviour in Animals: An Evolutionary Perspective give it a read. Seems it's a little more natural and widespread than the religious would like to believe.

Here's a list of animals with homosexual tendancies.

In contrast, it seems that preached monogamy is not as natural as one might expect:

Monogamy is so rare in the animal world that only 3-5 % of the mammals are known to form lifelong pair bonds, like beavers, otters, jackals, foxes, some bats and a few dwarf deer and antelopes.

sauce

Anyway ... back on topic ...

I'm beyond keen to see what the galaxy map will look like for ME3 ! LOVE the whole exploring thing!

That's like saying you want to play a Star Wars game, but you don't like lightsabers, so you want to turn it off.

That's where game reviews and warnings come into play and you can just CHOOSE not to play the game at all. There are countless awesome games to keep you busy.

Funny story, I was brought up in a conservative Christian environment. I have two older brothers who were both army boys, I had friends as a kid who'd mock gays constantly, anti-gay was pretty much the norm where I came from and I dealt with all of that growing up. Anti-gay nonsense and a conservative background didn't exactly stop the fact that I'm gay and that there's nothing me or anyone else can do about it; nor would I want anything done about it even if there were something.

Gay romance in a game is something that I can relate to, something that makes me feel a kind of freedom in having people like me acknowledged and represented in my favourite media.

You can say it's "wrong" all you like but the fact of the matter is that while it might be "wrong" to you, it isn't to me or any other person who is gay. "Wrong" would be living a lie to appease people like you and your self-righteous bigotry :)

I'll say this much for values, my mom was the one person in my life while I was growing up who believed in me and supported me--no-one else. My mom raised me to be a proud individual and to be happy with who I am regardless of the way the world might perceive me. Like she says... when someone upsets you, the only person who is upset is you--they don't give a shit about how they've made you feel.

Your intolerance and what upsets you is your own burden to bear but, in all honesty, I am quite happy that not everyone in the world thinks the way you do.

But think, for one moment, how you would feel if every other day of your life you had to deal with bigots preaching their own self-righteous bullshit, looking down on you and people like you because they can't, for one moment, put themselves in your shoes.

Being FORCED to like both a cat and dogs is wrong. If I don't want gay relationships in a game, I want the option to turn it off, simple as that.

Don't buy the game then. It obviously doesn't seem affect sales too adversely, eh?

Light-sabers are what makes Star Wars, if you don't like light-sabers you probably hated Star Wars. Adding gay romances is like replacing 10% of those light-sabers with a wooden stick with the wording "Sticks are light-sabers too ". So even though I like Star Wars I'm now forced to witness (and avoid) stick battles, before I can get to the Epic light-saber battles which also may not happen anymore, since it wouldn't of been fair to have Epic battles for the light-saber and not have them for the sticks. Thus they've been replaced with mediocre battles to be more "fair".

Ok , bad example ... but I'm sure you loved that movie about the two gay guys on the mountain ... there was much more to the story than them, but if it wasn't for their love, the plot would've collapsed.

Which movie am I referring to?

That's right ... Lord of the Rings. :p
