Hooray! Excellent excuse to go out, by a bike, leather jacket and 2 shotguns. But this is pretty interesting. I for see the future of super computing involving the whole worlds PC's ticking away and processing data whilst we are at work or school. We can be part of the bigger picture and our own demise as popularized by pop culture!

I see they fail to mention the BW usage required for running this..Im guessing it'll be plenty.
Although it is a cool Idea its not a practical one in SA, where we have caps and shitty line speeds.

That's exactally what I was thinking. It's like running Folding@home I guess, just you have to funnel cash into Eskom in the name of science!

Done that once pretty cool they send you a lil program you run in the background and when your pc is on idle it will download small amounts of data and send it back.

Well whether I live in the dark for a whole month or whether I live with the whole place lit up and everything buzzing around me, my electricity account remains unchanged for some strange reason. So I might as well support SkyNet ^_^

Interestingly enough, one of the two possible sites for the satellite array is in South Africa.

R23.63 says the dish is stolen within the first month and sold to a metal yard for cash...

The SETI project was not too dissimilar to this, 'cept they were looking for aliens, and that worked out wonders.

Lol. Lol, well I'll support this since this is a bit more realistic than the SETi project. Could speed up the process of finding life supporting planets and other interesting aspects of the universe that is still unknown to us.
