Getting Married Thread

Thats why you marry for love and nothing else. If you go around planning things becuause you assume your wife is going to try and srew you over you are going to end up with a devorce. And they can only demand alimony if you have a kid together.

Well what if you are marring for love and she is not but she fools you good.

Than you were desperate and didn't bother to make shure her feelings were genuine. Than I say you deserve what you get.

Yikes, all getting married sooooo young! Well.....28's ok I guess. I'm 28 though, have a steady GF, but jeepers, I'm not even at engaged yet!

To those few on here recently married....congratulations dudes, to grim who's almost on 2 years, congrats on sticking it out :p and to those that's due soon....good luck and all the best...future wife must be driving you nuts with wedding plans/jitters. :D But seriously, good luck for the big day!

Thanx eek. The gf and I have been together 8 years now, so it's about time. :D

Let me give you some advice, if you want to see her at her happiest, then ask her to marry you. :D

Dammit! So I'll only see her at her happiest if I commit to her for dear life? :D

I'll walk that path some day still, just not in the next 2 years I think.

8 years is good going mate! Now look to add another 30 years and beyond to that.

Actually if you earn substantially more than your wife and you provide her with a certain kind of lifestyle such as regular overseas trips, spending money etc the court could find that you might have to pay her alimony for a certain period of time which is calculated on the amount of time you were married.....
