Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Issue

MalicE

Party time! Excellent!
So I finally got around to testing my theory today that it was my faulty PSU causing GR:FS to crash my system after about 20min of play. Turns out it wasn't

The game freezes for a couple of seconds, during which the restart button doesn't even work, then the PC switches off completely and boots up again by itself

I am quite clueless now as to what could be causing it. Has anybody else had this problem???

I REALLY don't want to delete and re-download the game :(

Sounds like something else is giving up the ghost. I had the same problem with warhammer 40k dawn of war 2 my pc kept on crashing and restarting by itself. About 3 weeks down the line my pc did it again and it didn't turn back in. My cpu died :(

Possibly obviously done already, but what are the temps looking like? (check bios just when it restarts?) my mate had same problem with his COD causing his pc to unexpectedly restart during gaming, and turns out his CPU fan was on backwards o_0

I will shit myself if that happens

BWHAHAHAHAHA!

I have yet to check the temps, but the weird thing it it's only GR:FS doing this, no other games. and my PC is on basically 24/7 with no issues :wtf:

His was only when he COD'd, which was why he didn't really bother checking temps either, thought it was a software thing...needless to say, he eventually melted the thermal paste and it shorted the board. gave me the entire thing and i got a working CPU out of it :D

But yeah, its probably not, just thought i'd mention it :)

.....thanks mort, now you got me paranoid :(

going to check it tomorrow night

Dude check for any swollen caps on your gpu
but wouldn't that mess with everything else as well?

On my old card the caps were swollen and split from heat I could watch movies play certain games etc only some games like cod after playing a few minutes would stuff out... replaced the caps and it worked fine after that. Not saying you are having the same issue but it wont hurt to check

indeed, fanks. will dismantle the bitch again tonight

If this issue only occurs when playing a certain game and not when you play other's then it must be a software issue.

If it was a hardware issue, then you would have had restarts on a regular basis. Overheating also causes restarts so cooling could be the issue.

I had a micro crack in my motherboard and that causes mini power surges that caused my PC to restart regularly but that happened regardless of whether I played games or did graphics design. So I figured it was a hardware issue with me.

I do believe that your issue is software based as you are only experiencing the issue when playing that specific game.

Hope this helps.

yeah that has been my logic so far as well. just really don't want to download this bloody thing again and then it still doesn't work. so I'm trying to cover all the other bases first :D
