This one hurts. Harold Ramis, known to a generation as Dr. Egon Spengler in Ghostbusters and as the director of such hit comedies as Caddyshack and Groundhog Day, died Monday from complications related to auto-immune inflammatory vasculitis. He was 69.

A veteran of the Second City comedy troupe, the Chicago native co-wrote National Lampoon's Animal House, Ghostbusters, and Stripes, the latter two of which he starred in opposite Bill Murray.

Ramis made the leap to directing with Caddyshack and went on to helm National Lampoon's Vacation, Groundhog Day, Multiplicity, Analyze This, Analyze That, and Year One. He also directed a few episodes of NBC's The Office.

Damn that sucks. :(

I loved the Ghost Busters movies, was always hoping they make a new one.

Really sad news.

It's a cult classic. Not sure why you would expect people to keep quiet over it. And he has starred in a list of movies dude. Directed, produced, etc etc.

Didn't say a thing about it not having to be mentioned. I just honestly can't see why he's held in such high regard. Even in the cult classic he was a forgettable character in comparison to the rest of the cast. He was mediocre at best.

Surely the heavens shall flow with blood and the ground shall turn to ash! I seek forgiveness but I agree with Stunt :wtf::eek:

Eish...ja I have to agree. Short sighted comment is short sighted. Seriously Stunt, you may want to read up a little more about the oke. Reading is good, 'mkay?

I was just ragging him a bit, I don't think he is old enough to understand how awesome Harold Ramis was. (Not being mean here :) )
