You guys sound like a bunch of girls or just plainly my brother in law. Catch it, bottle it and send it as a living trophy with your son to school.

I would rather send that thing as a dead trophy, a teacher would send your kid home if he/she rocks up at school with something like that.

It does not look like a tarantula, so shoot to kill.

Where I grew up (Erasmia, just behind Zwartkops Racetrack in Pretoria and now live again) we used to find 12cm scorpions, snakes etc all the time and got chased by Red Romans on hot days, walking home from school. This was circa '87.

There are dead snakes (Cobra, Mamba and different vipers) burried under every room's floor of my parent's house. Killed while we were building the house. We have not had a break in there since moving in in 87 neither.

Kreepy crawlies present a capture and release challenge to me these days...

I grew up on a farm in Limpopo, in a small farming area near where OppiKoppi is held. (have never been to OppiKoppi)
We had all the snakes, spiders and insects you mentioned as well, i even had a few pet snakes and spiders while growing up that i caught in the bush. but i live by one rule, if it is poisonous -- it's me or it. -- snakes kill farm animals, we even had instances where a few people have been bitten.
