Hey guys,

This month I have Ten 21 day trials for Eve-Online if anyone wants to give it a go. These trials are 7 days longer than the normal trial.

Eve-Online is an MMO sandbox for sci-fi fans. Once you are used to it, it is probably the most worth while game you will ever play. You just need to get through the steep learning curve (not as bad as it used to be lol) :

It is a very political game with a very big South African following.

If you are eager to give it a go, download the client from the Eve-Online website here and then give me your email address. I'll send the invite to your inbox. If you dont want to give your email addy in this topic, you can send me a PM.

Here is a very good article to explain what Eve is about:

This is the latest trailer for the current free expansion:

Once you are up and running let me know and myself and my corporation will help you along with advise and support. We are a good bunch of guys from all corners of SA and SA gaming.

PS: Please only apply if you are serious about giving this a go. I dont want to waste these invites on people who never use them.

If my adsl wasn't so crappy then I would have asked for one. I actually own Eve Online via Steam but my internet latency is just too bad.

I'm planning to move to a new house by the end of the year though and then I'd like to play the trial before activating the full version. So hopefully I'll get someone to give me a trial key by then.

A friend and myself are heading up a new corp for new players. We currently have 7 recruits from all sides of the gaming scene here in SA. More are welcome!

If you want an invite pm me your email address.

On the subject of learning curve, don't let it put you off. It's really not as bad as it is made out to be. The only thing is, you actually have to think before outfitting your ship in Eve. It's not like WoW, where you only have to decide whether you want to equip the boots of +1 health or +1 defense. :P You need to take into consideration which loadouts you want, make comprises etc.

For example, taking the most powerful gun you can find might pull too much from your power grid or CPU, forcing you to leave out something like a shield booster or armor repairer. Or you can add a piece of equipment that increases CPU, capacitor or powergrid, but due to a limited number of slots on your particular ship, it means you cannot add another piece of important hardware. :P

Really, the hardest part I've found so far is simply outfitting my ship, and for that I sit and work the whole thing out with a notepad next to my PC. :P You don't need to, though, there's an entire website dedicated to letting players upload loadouts, and you can often find efficient ones there.
