Springing into strategy madness!
So it's not really spring yet—at least, not here in Poland where the snow's piled as high as a polar bear's eye—but Punxsutawney Phil has predicted that winter's nearly over in the US, so we're feeling a bit of spring fever here. As a result, we've had an idea. A crazy idea.

Since a lot of you seemed to like the sale price for the promotion that we've just ended, we thought we make that sale price permanent. That's right, from now on Jagged Alliance, Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games, Disciples: Sacred Lands Gold and Port Royale 2 are all now permanently $5.99!

Pinball Gold Pack
So, how does the Pinball Gold Pack compare to the other pinball releases on GOG.com? First of all, you get five games - Pinball Dreams 1 and 2, Pinball Fantasies, Pinball Mania, and Pinball Illusions, each featuring four pinball tables. That's twenty tables in total, each with a unique theme. The physics are reasonable, but can hardly be compared to those found in newer, more technologically advanced pinball games, for obvious reasons. There's one thing the Pinball Gold Pack has that its younger cousins don't - the sheer oldschool, nostalgic feeling you get when you play it. The fact that the game used .MOD files for music, in order to save space, might bring a tear to some of you PC veterans' eyes, too. Care to take a trip back in time for less than 10 bucks?

Total Annihilation: Kingdoms
We bet you didn't see that coming. Today we're releasing the "sequel" to the acclaimed RTS franchise Total Annihilation. For the price of only $5.99 that's a steal!

Total Annihilation: Kingdoms is a real-time strategy that developed many features of its predecessor. The game is neither a sequel nor prequel to the original Total Annihilation, but a spin-off that took players from the futuristic setting from the first part into a world of fantasy. Aside from the different setting than in the original, other changes include a simpler resource management which allows you to focus more on the massive battles, and four different factions (instead of two) with distinct units' characteristics. Our version of the game also includes "The Iron Plague" expansion which adds one more kingdom and hundreds of new maps to play on. Forget about lunch today and spend this spare cash on this game and you won't regret it.

Zork Nemesis: The Forbidden Lands
Hear ye, all Zork lovers! On this fine day we present to you the second graphical adventure hailing from the Zork series. Let the rejoicing commence!

Zork Nemesis: The Forbidden Lands is a first-person perspective, point-and-click adventure game. It was quite different compared to its predecessor, Return to Zork. First of all, instead of showing a still image of the surrounding area, it creates a simulated 360-degree view, making it all the more immersive. Most notably, though, the setting is quite unlike any Zork game that came before Nemesis. It's much more sombre and serious, in stark contrast to the jovial, light-hearted spirit of the prequels. A sizable portion of the Zork fanbase preferred the old atmosphere and Activision heeded the call of the people, but Nemesis is, beyond doubt, a fantastic game in its own right.
Every Zork fan owes it to the series to experience a completely different approach to the classic setting.

The Witcher 2 Digital Premium Edition Price on GOG Dropped for UK Customers
We do our best to provide you with the lowest possible prices here at GOG, and we're happy to announce that we're able to make another great deal here. With The Witcher 2 Digital Premium Edition we introduced the 'Fair Price Package' to compensate for the price difference for customers who pay in Euros and British pounds sterling vs. those who pay in USD. Today we're happy to announce a new, lower price of The Witcher 2 for all UK customers: your copy of TW2 on GOG will only be £29.99. Take advantage of our cool pre-order offer, though, and UK customers will pay only £26.99! If you already pre-ordered the game, the price reduction includes your pre-order as well. This also means the store credit will be given only to customers who buy The Witcher 2 on GOG in Euros, as the price in GBP is now a "fair price" without store credit.

Heroes of Might and Magic 4 Complete
After releasing the first three installments of this acclaimed series, it was only natural to add Heroes of Might and Magic 4 to the lineup. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we did!

You probably know this already, but Heroes of Might and Magic 4 is a casual, fantasy-themed turn-based strategy, in which you explore a magical land and lead hordes of mythical creatures against the enemies of your realm. The Complete edition includes the original game and its two expansions: The Gathering Storm and Winds of War, giving you countless hour of gameplay to look forward to.
The fourth installment of the series remains the fabulous fairy-tale design and beautiful 2D graphics, but also was somewhat innovative, as it added many new features to the well-established gameplay of its predecessors, most notably letting the Heroes participate in battles. Get your copy today and find out how the gameplay evolved.

Might and Magic 7: For Blood and Honor
The previous Might and Magic titles received a really warm welcome from the GOG community. It was our duty to add the next part of this classic series to the catalogue.

Might and Magic 7: For Blood and Honor is a first-person perspective cRPG and is considered by many to be the best installment of the series.
A deep, involving storyline with memorable characters and many endings is to be expected of a game with such a strong pedigree, and there's enough of it to keep you busy for weeks. The story comes packed with great presentation, especially its absolutely phenomenal musical score.
What's more, if you're a fan of Heroes of Might and Magic, you're in for a treat, as you'll no doubt recognize many of the monsters from the third part of the series.
Finally, Might and Magic 7 features its very own trading card game, called Acromage. Its rules are simple, but it's a full game in its own right and you might end up playing the RPG just to feed your Arcomage addiction!

Battle Isle Platinum
With four games and a bunch of additional content for each one, today's release of Battle Isle Platinum is one of the largest in GOG's history.

Battle Isle Platinum covers a huge chunk of the acclaimed turn-based strategy/tactics series and consists of:
- Battle Isle 1 including Data Disk 1 & Battle Isle ‘93 & Historyline: 1914-1918,
- Battle Isle 2 including Scenery CD “Titan’s Legacy”,
- Battle Isle 3 along with extensive video sequences,
- Incubation and the wilderness missions.
That's easily enough to keep your inner strategist busy for weeks, or months if you work for a living!

So, what is this series about, you ask? It's about strategy and tactics at their very finest. It's about using the units at your disposal to the best of your ability in order to achieve specific goals, rather than building an impenetrable fortress, preparing a massive zerg and spamming your enemy with it, rinse, repeat. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, the Battle Isle series is about a deep, involving storyline with a huge backstory, both in-game and in "feelies". The latter are, of course, available with our release in digital form.

Go ahead and see for yourself why this series achieved cult classic status.

Might and Magic 8: Day of the Destroyer
We hope you've been busy playing Might and Magic 7, because its sequel is now officially part of our rapidly expanding collection of games!

Might and Magic 8: Day of the Destroyer is a first-person perspective role-playing game and is the last game of the series with such strong ties to its predecessors. Most notably, its engine is based on that of the classic Might and Magic 6, with most of the familiar mechanics remaining, for the most part, unchanged.
The story, closely tied to the previous Might and Magic games and also Heroes of Might and Magic 3, is enthralling and full of exploration, great dialog and puzzles and, of course, is accompanied by a wonderful soundtrack.
Acromage, the card mini-game you should remember from the prequel, is present in the eight installment as well, with a few alterations, and is still as addictive as ever.
The biggest difference between this game and its predecessors is that you don't have to create an entire party right at the start. You're free to recruit new members for your party and change its composition at will. You can even have a dragon as one of your companions.
So if you haven't finished Might and Magic 7 yet, do it quickly (without sacrificing the experience, of course!) and witness the next chapter of the story.

Rayman Forever
Finally, a new platformer on GOG.com! Or, to be more precise, one of the greatest titles the genre has ever seen!

Rayman is a 2D platformer game and the first title of a famous series that spawned sequels and spin-offs beyond count. The Forever edition, released by Ubisoft around 3 years after the original game, includes a bunch of goodies, most notably a level editor and Rayman By His Fans - 40 of the best staff-picked levels made with that very editor.
The game itself is a true platformer, with a strong emphasis on timing and reflex-based challenges, rather than combat. Its difficulty seems just right, in a way that makes you have to earn every level, but leaves you thoroughly satisfied afterwards.
Finally, Rayman still looks great, despite being over fifteen years old. This is mostly due to its amazing, fluid animations, but the game's high-color graphics and creative level design are sure to make an impression on you as well.
Overall, today's release is a pure, classic platformer that every gamer should at least try out

XIII
Say hello to XIII - probably the most unique FPS of all time. Definitely one of the best. Discover it, play it and perhaps shed a tear at the lack of a sequel.

XIII is a first-person shooter based on the first five volumes of a popular Belgian comic book series. You're put in the shoes of XIII, badly wounded and with no recollection of your past. The American president has been assassinated and all of a sudden everyone's out to get you. Are you the assassin? Were you framed? Whoever you are, you must be damn important and you won't let anyone stop you from reclaiming your identity.
What makes XIII special is its comic book-style design. The characters and weapons are cel-shaded, outlines and all, and there's a whole bunch of stylish features, like visualized sound effects. Imagine shooting a gun and seeing "BLAM!" right next to the muzzle flash. Just how cool is that?
Finally, a great, involving storyline, a perfect musical score, and top-notch voice acting by such actors as David Duchovny and Adam West make XIII an absolutely epic game.

please try to keep to the topic of the OP and the discussion. this is about GOG and not WTF is my best old game. please do not just drop in here for a quick count++. thank you.

Alone in the Dark
It's here! An absolute legend, the grandfather of all survival horrors, and based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft - Alone in the Dark - bundled together with the rest of the original trilogy!

Alone in the Dark is a survival horror game released back in 1992, and one of the first games to use 3D models over prerendered backgrounds. This may not sound too fancy now, but when you see the vivid facial expressions on characters using almost two decades-old technology, you'll see that this game is simply a work of art. But there's a lot more to it than that.
Overall, the game's presentation is simply amazing, and this goes for the entire trilogy as well. Each gripping story comes accompanied by top-notch voice acting, fantastic mood-setting music and an immersive cinematic atmosphere. After playing this release, you'll wish all games were this well-designed.
And, finally, the horror part presents the perfect mix of bone-chilling suspense and sudden, heart-pounding terror.
So that's three legendary games for a mere $5.99. What are you waiting for? Are you scared or something?

Star Control 1+2
If you like Science Fiction, look no further. You can't possibly go wrong with these two addictive Sci-Fi games, each with a cult following of its own.

First, there was Star Control, a turn-based strategy game with an addictive real-time arcade combat mode called Mêlée. This was essentially a relatively close-quarters duel between two spaceships. The most impressive thing about this mode, and the game in general, was that, somehow, the game's creators managed to make the dozen or so race-specific ship types completely different from each other, yet at the same time balanced.

Star Control 2 added even more races and ships to the fray, while retaining balance in the Mêlée mode, but changed the underlying gameplay considerably. The sequel was turned into more of a space-faring adventure game, with quests, diplomacy and character progression in the form of ship upgrades. The gameplay is as addictive as ever and the storyline is both good and believable, with tons of memorable characters, races and humor that will make you go back to this game again and again.

wow, just wow. this game had me playing for hours and hours. brings back good memories :D
