Good PS2 game

While my PS3 is in for repairs, I'm looking for a good PS2 game or two to play in the meantime. Any suggestions?
I've been thinking of getting one of the Final Fantasy's, but I've never played any of them before and I'm not a huuuge rpg fan. Which FF is nice for a newcomer, and which other titles did you guys enjoy?
 
I still have my PS2 hooked up permanently. Loads of great games there.
the best Final Fantasy games are FFX and FFXII.
I suggest you check out Rogue Galaxy too, amazing game in the same category as Final Fantasy.
If you want more old school gauntlet style action RPG then try the X-Men Legends series. It is still seriously fun.
 
The PS2 has been the most prolific console ever built
There are SO many good titles to play, it literally depends what you are into though

The only Final Fantasy I played was Final Fantasy 10 and it was good.

If you can get hold of it then Shadow of the Collosus is apparently very good but I suppose you can get the newer version for the PS3. Hmmm nah, give Final Fantasy a chance. It's not great but it's good. The random encounters got on my nerves a bit though.
 
motorstorm arctic edge is pretty damn good, for a series that started on the ps3 i was expecting arctic edge to be a piss poor use of the licence but i was wrong.

other ps2 titles worth getting is virtua fighter 4 evolution, Must have's God of war 1 & 2, tekken 5, onimusha 3 there are lots more i cant think of now.

Im not very sure about this one, but I guess Shadow the Hedgehog wasn't too bad..

you are not going to be dissapointed, i enjoyed FFX alot, played over 500hours on that game. I lost my copy of FFX so i need to grab myself another copy at some point although i got a PS2 emu on my PC and luckily had ripped it to an iso image before it dissapeared although it just doesnt run the same as on the PS2
