Google unveils new Nexus 7, Chromecast dongle

Google on Wednesday unveiled a slimmer, more powerful tablet computer on its Nexus brand and a thumb-sized device that lets popular mobile gadgets feed online content wirelessly to television sets.

The ramped-up second-generation Nexus 7 by Taiwan-based Asus made its debut along with a Chromecast dongle that plugs into television sets to let people easily route online content to big screens.

I have a first-gen N7 and it has been a pleasure to use/play with. My kids will also vouch for that.

So this would be my choice if I could get a replacement.

Kid 44 loves playing on my Nexus 7, so I think it is almost time for her to get her own tablet. But since it would be her first, it makes sense to not buy her a new one and maybe just pass along my old one to her. This leaves me without a tablet and sadly, I will need to get a new one. Wonder what I'll get... "whistling:
