Google+... Wow.

I thought I'd never join another social network. I thought I don't have the time. But screw it. When Google+ is up and running for the whole public, I'm joining. It looks really simple and intuitive. Instead of wasting my time, I feel this will save me the time I would have wasted on facebook. Hope it integrates well with everything but it already seems to have some intuitive and generally beneficial features.

I made this thread to possibly discuss Google+. Anything about it. I'm interested to learn about it without having to actually read full reviews. Got 6 projects to do by month end :/ I also thought maybe other people would want to discuss it since it isn't so hectically promoted yet :)
 
Google+ is awesome. I have been on it for about a month now and it is much better than FB. Not just because it is new however! The circles system is so simple and ingenious. It solves the privacy issue of FB just like that.

Agree with you there... Atleast when u post a status u can only share it with certain people ;)
 
Lol. sound good. Then you don't have your mom saying something that wasn't supposed to reach her because your sister told her because someone you know put it on facebook and you commented on it :D

Or your boss firing you because you called in sick and then a friend put a pic up of you at a mad sex party or something :O
 
Ill try it when its officially released, my only worry is that facebook will soon catch wind of the new innovative features and implement something similar in no time.
 
If facebook does so, good for them. However I think they have had enough intellectual property theft lawsuits for the time being :)

Also, Facebook can go suck eggs because they will never support the integration between platforms that google can accomplish (Android, iPhone and PC) I installed the Google+ Android app and it is so well integrated, you won't even notice yourself using it.
 
Don't really use facebook much, but google+ have started using a little more and more. I love the sharing between certain circles only, it's just so much easier to manage. The layout is uncluttered and don't get spammed by annoying app requests. (hopefully this doesn't change)
 
I'll be honest, I was keen to give G+ a try, but so far the sumtotal of my participation in it was to create a new circle and dump contacts into it. Haven't even gotten a profile pic or made comments yet. :/

TBH I still prefer IRC. :o
 
It looks great...but try convincing the rest of my friends to come along. FB just has a bigger friend base. You much more likely to find people on there. altho i spose if enough of us break a way from the herd...maybe maybe maybe. I'l give it a go. I have alternative (read emo) friends that will do anything to be different! :-D
 
Yeah. But I'm just hoping G+ and Facebook colaborate into one so all my photos and friends etc come over automatically. In the perfect world... Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely :/

Okay, cool. So that is photos (importing for the next... 6 months it would seem :P). But I was hoping for full cooperative intergration. Like one where it didn't matter if you were on facebook or G+, you could see your friends statuses and so on and comment on them and on their facebook it would just show that it came from G+ like it does when someone with a blackberry comments on something. Full, complete integration. You just got to choose which interface you would prefer to use. G+ or FB.
 
Its really good , circles is a awesome Idea and for all those saying , FB has a bigger friend base and that it wont succeed
Remember this is google please consult previous This will never work statements
Cloud oS > Microsoft
Android > F@%&ing Everything
Google Search engine > AOL /Yahoo /etc etc
Least we for get good old Gmail (privacy laws accepted )

I have been using it for a while now PLUS 1 FROM ME
 
Yes this will succeed. Bookface may have a bigger base but it's not flexible enough and people have been asking for something better that respects their privacy more. They haven't delivered so it's time for somebody else to take the reigns. FB was a test run like Yahoo to see how it should not be done but it lasted too long.

I am joined to it even though I never use any social networking besides for competition purposes
