Eeeexcellent. Like really.

I was a little cautious about getting it but since the special at the moment is really good we went ahead. Fantastic console, really intuitive and fun to play. Now for more equipment.

Any tips/things I should look out for? :D

Gaming is meant to be fun.
I have my entire family [Mom is in her 60s] playing games on this console, which is a first.

Did you buy a game or games with it?

I recommend Boom Blox.

I would like to get myself Motion Plus some time.

I agree - gaming needs to be fun. In fact, read a thing on Forbes about this very thing... it may not have ultra PS3 graphics but it's awesome fun.

Mario Cart is great.
 
If I want pretty graphics, I boot up my PC.

Hmmm....I don't have Mario Kart. Yet.
Does it have a split screen multiplayer mode?
 
Yeah it does - very fun little game. Got some seriously trippy stages too.

I kinda want World of Goo as well - some great reviews for it. Apparently addictive.
 
Ah yes.....the downloadable games.
A pity that it is not easier to buy Wii Points cards in South Africa.

The only way I have found thus far is to go through Expansys, and for that one needs a credit card.
 
The Motion-Plus is great, if you do decide to get it, grab a copy of tiger woods golf with it. It's like playing for real.!!!
 
Howcome Tinman? I've heard it's decent. Got to pick my stuff :)

The Motion Plus does look pretty sweet... it looks like places are selling the Wii Sports Resort with Motion Plus + Controller for around R699 - sound right?

Kalahari has some excellent stuff as well - thinking about the Guitar Hero guitar for R270 and the charging stations etc. Also a wireless nunchuck would rock. Not Nintendo brand though - anyone know about Nyko as a generic?

I'm a fan of Resident Evil but it's not something I'd go out and buy.

Hmmmm, well TBH, its just a lot of straight forward fun, which is what you expect from a Wii game. Well paced, great artistic direction, lots of variation etc

i also recently got a wii. I can +1 tiger woods with motion plus. Its awesome. You also get firsbee golf with it which is cool :D
busy waiting for my super smash bros brawl, zelda and metroid 3 to arrive :D cant wait
