Got The Wrong Mouse, Now What?

So I recently bought myself a Razer Lachesis mouse from Rebeltech. The problem is now that I apparently have a "claw" grip and this mouse is a "palm" grip mouse, so holding it is very strange to me. So now I don't know what to do :/ ...suggestions?

Best bet is to sell it and get something better suited to your style.

Same thing happened to me when I bought the logitech g9x. Sold it and got a rat 7. Much better.

You gotta just accept you will loose a few rond when selling it 2nd hand. But shouldn't be a train smash.

How much did you buy it for and how much are you willing to sell it for?

Erk! Seems I'm also not in the right catagory. I'm a "fingertip grip" user.

I payed R450 for it, will sell it for R350, but you pay for shipping? :) I'm slowly getting used to it though, so might not sell it.

I bought a lachesis quite a while back, took me a few days to get used to it, but now I have no issues.

You'll most likely get used to it. Bought the same mouse when I upgraded my PC a month ago, and at first I was not that keen on it as I had figured it didn't really match up to the grip I prefer. But I got used to it. Takes a little while but I have no problems with it now.

Is not possible to return the mouse or swap it for another mouse and then pay the difference?

You will get used to any mouse. Don't worry. I used to be a claw person. Then came the christmas of 2008. Since then, I have had the MX518 and couldn't be more comfortable. I am now a palm/fingertip grip user. I kinda use a bit of both. Stick it out with your mouse and she can bring you years of pleasure :)

A change is as good as a holiday.

P.S. a change might save you from arthritis if you change every now and then :P if you are lucky.

I think before you buy another mouse, you may want to try testing it out yourself. I know its not always option if you don't have any friends that buy gaming mice, but there are a lot of good mice out there each designed for a different set of preferences (grip, weight, width, button positions etc.).

As others have said though, you can "retrain" yourself to use the different designs.

Logitech G500 ftw, very comfortable mouse. Though by the looks of those pics above, I fall under Fingertip Grip.

In exactly the same boat...I'm sought of using a half-palm/half-claw on my mx518. I'm slowly getting more and more used to it.

Ooh ooh ooh that Razer would be perfect for me =D
