Hey guys

So im looking at where the Gpu market is going the whole amd vs nvidia, mantle throw the apple cart over thing.

And was looking at some of the different brands and was wondering what you guys think are good and bad gpu brands, sapphire for instance never tried it but dont think i want to.

Msi seems like the all round price to performance balance according to most people and there form factor is not huge compared to the likes of asus and gigabyte.

So what are your experiences and thoughts on the matter

Sapphire is a quality brand, they have been in the business for quite a while now. MSI is also great. Gigabyte is great, but for me they are on the more expensive side. ASUS is also great, I have one of their cards, been going strong for 2 years now, but these days they are almost the most expensive brand available.

In the end brand only matters when it comes to non reference cards(Custom coolers or components).

i have also had Sapphire and i must say the 6850 toxic i had from them was amazing, Used asus ans msi before too but asus is just to expensive these days you pay for the name, Club 3d aren't bad cards either and don't forget XfX they are well tuned cards too and good quality and support. And Powercolor can also be thrown in there i love my R9 270X O.C

All of these brands are great. Just look for warranty, what design you like and maybe some overclocking performance.

If you are considering the reference/stock cooler on the card, then every brand is the same.
It's only when their own brand of cooler comes into play that they become distinguishable.

Asus DCII, Gigabyte windforce, MSI forza, Sapphire vapour-x, Powercolor dual fan thingy, etc.
I've had ASUS, MSI, Sapphire, Inno3D cards before - they are all pretty sturdy.
ASUS, although expensive, run the most quiet.

Warranty is also a factor.
EVGA usually has these long warranties, think 10 years(?).

Wow inno3D what ever happened to them and can anyone remember Sparkle :p

Lol, who could forget those outrageous sparkle color schemes :p
Inno3D was around making a lot of the nvida 600 series, they seem to disappeared when the 700 series rolled in

Hmm... color scheme could be a factor to consider when picking up a gpu

I've owned a multitude of cards before; Generally ASUS runs quitest; MSI is sturdiest; Sapphire have some of the more powerful cards; Gigabyte OC's very well. ASUS as a brand has become really expensive for their products for no discernible reason.

Got a Inno3D GTX560 still going strong, Sparkle, Force 3D and Winfast where bought out AFAIK, BFG Folded, KFA2 and Galaxy are the same, and Club3D make awesome cards, many of the lesser known brands are made in Taiwan or China and are exclusive to the country of production.
