GPU upgrade is it worth it ??

Hi all,

i now have a GT 9600 1Gb card and would like to get a new card but i need to know is it worth it to buy a gigabyte GT 620 1Gb (Just until i can get a better one) ?

I have seen a guy get 25 FPS on BF3 on ultra settings and i get 25 FPS on LOW!!! (MP online) but i think it's a easy question but maybe some one has a better idea on the card.

No I wouldn't buy a 620 if I were you, 620 is entry level, but it does depend on which games you want to play, resolution and detail levels. Rather save and keep the money for something with more oomph.
 
i play games on 1366x768 and i play Battlefield 3,getting far cry 3,LOL all the new games but like i said just until i have the money for a better one.

is the upgrade from a 9600 to 620 big or not?
But what card do you suggest i get for that resolution and medium to high graphics (more to the high side) ?

no its small, if any. The 9600 was a mid level card, when it came out it was R2.5k if I am not mistaken. Buying the 620 would be a waste of money, am thinking its probably about R700 if new. That price and if you are looking at getting a new card soon I would probably consider looking at 2nd hand deals, you could probably pick up something like a 460 or a 5850/5770 for that price range which would perform a lot better.

Maybe you should try buying second hand? If you buy from the right people you can get a really nice GPU for a good price that actually works. PM me if you want more details on this.
 
Hey man.I have been looking at an upgrade for my GTS 250 . I wouldnt really recommend that card (620). You wont find it to be that much better then your current card.

What is your price limit?

I am thinking of getting a GTX 650 TOC 2 gb edition. I found one for R1899 at computer mania. Its a pretty decent card for that price, and should be able to handle bf3 on ultra as well as a few games to come (ps not crysis 3 XD )
