Graphics card compatibility

Hi

I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card, I currently have a MSI GTX460 and am looking to replace it with the MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX760 2GB

My motherboard is a MSI H55M-P31
The motherboard features PCI Express x 16 (Gen 2). The GTX 760 features PCI-E 3.0.

I would like to know if the GTX 760 will be compatible with my current board. (I will be replacing the motherboard in a few months).

The power supply and case is more than adequate for the new card. I am running Windows 7 64 bit.

Like everyone else has said they are backward compatible, also the performance difference is negligible at this point in time, have a look at this
