Greenlight Steam Game

I remember an article about a monster truck game from a local studio, but can't remember the name. I also can't find the article. I'm just interested in whether this is going to take off.

Hi Tyrii, thanks for the interest in our game.

We've had mixed feelings about the game being on Greenlight. Greenlight is flawed in a sense that what the masses vote on, the masses will get, so the current flavour of the month genre such as zombie games, shooters or survival horrors get all the upvotes, while the lesser mainstream genres such as racing and sports games get fewer votes. Our game is focused more on fun and gameplay and we didn't have the budget for absolutely amazing graphics... another big part of steam greenlight voting is of course how good the screenshots and the video of the game look.

The game is nearing release and we've made as many graphical enhancements as possible and we think its looking a lot better than it did a few months ago. We'll be posting it onto Desura and many other game portals, and we'll also be putting it on a few web game portals such as Kongregate and the Chrome web store. But we really don't have much hope for Steam, unless the game proves to sell really well on these other portals and garners a huge fanbase that can help us get Greenlit.

Let me know if you need any more information about the game and I'll be happy to answer your questions.

When I last saw the game, which was a while ago, it looked like it had a lot of potential. The graphics looked weird though. In that everything looked too clean and too sparsely populated. I look forward to seeing what changes you made to the graphics since that was by far the thing that was dragging it down.

Keep up the good work though! May it do well!

Hi Solitude, you'll be amazed at what 5 months of work and polish on a game can do.

We've also added in two great features between races...

- a time trial arena where you get to crush cars and try to set the fastest lap
- a long jump arena where there is this huge-aas ramp and you have to try jump the furthest distance

We'll also be doing a multiplayer beta very soon before release, so anybody who is interested can sign up here..

Perhaps we should start a "steam greenlight" section in the forums where ewe can suggest games that are worth taking a look at?
Like "War for the Overworld" for example - a Dungeon Keeper game - NOT LIKE DUNGEONS lol

Good idea :D

Cool, I applied for your beta. :) I hope I'm not too late. Have already voted for you at Steam Greenlight.

No just in time, our multiplayer library we use they've just released a huge update to their software, so we're working closely on integrating evertything and taking advantage of all the new features.

We're also considering getting all the tracks completely re-developed from scratch by an expert 3D guy, the current tracks were initially designed for low draw calls and mobile and don't look anywhere near as good as they can on PC.

Thanks for the vote.
