Grim Dawn

Is the game similar to Diablo 3 single player? I loved the single player part of Diablo very much.
Yeah, like Blazzok said it plays more like Titan Quest, but it is much better than Diablo III IMO. Diablo is obviously much more polished and plays a little smoother but GD has way more depth in terms of character customisation.

I think it comes down to taste, I wouldn't say GD is better than D3. D3 has faster gameplay than GD, with effortless swapping of skills. GD again you have to pick your path and if you screw it up, tough luck (more like D2/Titan Quest in that sense).

I like both games and they both play differently for me. I think I prefer D3 because of the faster gameplay though, but GD is still an awesome game.

I don't get what you mean with you have to pick your path and if you screw it up tough luck. You do know you can respec skill points as much as you want right (it only costs 50 Iron bits per point)? I do it all the time. The only points you can't respec are the ones you put into a Mastery itself and attribute points.

Diablo III does have faster gameplay though.

Then I probably remember wrong. I thought you could only recover the last 3 points you spent or something like that? My bad

Well, it does depend on when last you played it. AFAIK you couldn't respec from the beginning but there is an NPC in Devil's Crossing (the first town) that allows you to respec as much as you want. Not sure which build added it though. I do think in the final release they might increase the price of respeccing, but ATM the cost is a non-issue.

Thanks for the replies guys, looks really good. But, I think I will wait a few months, I've put myself on hold for buying games now, I have so many good games I want to play first. But will definitely get this before the end of the year.

The latest Grim Misadventures just revealed the final bit of awesomeness this game will have in terms of character customisation: Devotions.

Below is the celestial map which is where you will be able to spend Devotion points. (Click to view the full image)

Playing all the way through ultimate difficulty will net you 50 devotion points which will allow you to fill in roughly 12% of the celestial map. Yes, it is huge! There is a total of 79 Constellations, each with 3-8 stars for a total of 425. The Constellations serve a greater purpose. You see, each Constellation is aligned to a combination of Affinities: Ascendant, Chaos, Eldritch, Order and Primordial. This means that every Devotion point will be critical to your ultimate build.
