Grim Dawn

I play this quite often (not so much recently though). I currently have about 50 hours logged, but I'm actually waiting for either Act 3 or the Arcanist Mastery before I'll put some more serious time into it. Not really worried about MP; will probably only use it for trading.

I've been playing it a lot as well since the hunt for epic loot gets better and more addictive with every update! :D Build 18 added crafting, build 19 added a fracking difficult challenge dungeon and build 20 has, among a cornucopia of other changes, refined complete item sets further. I've had a lot of fun hunting for crafting recipes and the components needed to craft them. :) Lastly since you mentioned the Arcanist Mastery you may be interested in the following:

The above is a preview of the Arcanist skill tree and you can read a description of a few of the skills here. The second part of the Arcanist reveal will be posted later on today. ;)

Yeah I saw the Arcanist skill tree preview on the official forum, looks pretty awesome and I can't wait to give it a try. That's kinda why I'm holding off playing B20 as I want to play through the whole game again with a new class and see all the new features. About 46 of 50 hours was done with B19. I might still check out B20 with my current characters just to check out the Transmuters and such. I still want to know what Devotion is, but the devs don't want to spill the beans. I also really want a level cap increase (I'm sure it's coming) since I don't have enough skill points currently to get my build(s) the way I want it. Add me on steam (Myrdlok) if you want then we can maybe give the MP a spin sometime.

Schweet, I've added you! :)

From what I have read so far the final level cap will be 75. As for Devotion someone found something in the database file that hints to it being a whole lot of passive abilities? Otherwise I'm keen to give MP a try, I still haven't been able to complete the Steps of Torment yet but I'm eager to start a new character and experience the current game again from the beginning with all the changes they have added. :)

Cool, I'll accept the invite after work tonight.

I tried the MP last night with a colleague of mine, but no luck. We tried about 3 times but the game just hanged. I did notice that the drop rate seems to have improved though. I did one run of Cronley last night and got 5 epics. I also briefly checked out the Transmuters, but I have none of the skills with Transmuters so I couldn't test them out.

I'll wait for Arcanist before starting a new character. Already have lvl 35 Nightblade and Demolitionist.

There are way too many Anfields on Steam. I think it would be easier if you post the link to your Steam Community profile.

Why are more people not playing this amazing game? It might still be in early access, but it is worth every cent. I have already bought 2 copies for fellow forum members and if I had the money I would buy everyone who likes ARPG's a copy. The game recently got updated to build 27 which added to 6th and final Mastery (class), Shaman, as well as a bunch of other stuff, changes and fixes.

The new class is really badass; it's basically a master of 2 handed weapons and elemental (lightning) attacks as well as summoning. Any 2 of the 6 masteries can be combined for near limitless build possibilities. There are a lot of different skills across the 6 masteries and there are also something like 200+ different item skills and the devotion system they are working on is going to add even more depth to the game.

Even though the game is still in Alpha it is already complete up to Act 3 (which was where it was originally intended to end, but they're adding a 4th act) and there is a rogue-like dungeon for high level characters that can be replayed as many as times as you like (they will be adding another one of these as well). There are also bounties do keep you busy and the faction system adds a bunch of stuff to do/get as well (each faction will offer you unique gear to buy from them, if they like you enough).

I cannot recommend this game enough. If you have any interest in ARPG's you owe it to yourself to check this one out. Forget about Diablo, Torchlight and all the rest, Grim Dawn is where it's at. The game will hopefully be finished by the end of this year, but with only 8 people working on it, it might take a little longer.

Here is video of the rogue-like dungeon currently in the game (Steps of Tormnet):

I'm still waiting for it to finally release. Not a lot left now so hopefully release by the end of the year. Hopefully.

I still love it, and play it every so often, we enjoy it a lot - I got my brother to buy it as well. Just so much to play that I am giving it more time and will play again in a while

Awesome! Now is actually a very good time jump back in if you haven't played in a while. The new mastery is so much fun! I can understand that people want to wait for the game to be complete though, but I can't.

I'm just worried I burn myself out before release. I never play hack 'n slash games for very long before I grow bored.

What I've played of GD was great though. The best hack 'n slash I've ever played.

I have to agree with Graal. I have played Grim Dawn and I've finished it all the way up to the end of Act3 with my main, and partway there with a second. I also ran Steps of Torment several times with my main.

I think I'll now wait for final release before playing more, otherwise I will be tired of the game before it hits final release.

It is a great game though!

Playing it, loving it and I still can't believe I haven't finished the current content in the game! :wtf: Worse still was fighting my way through SoT, losing the guy I was playing with before I even got to the end boss, somehow surviving on my own only to finish off the last boss double K.O. style. :(

Otherwise here is a short video I recorded with my Arcanist (the pure magic class) in case anyone wants to know what that class plays like. :)

Although it says Battlemage the above is a maxxed out Arcanist with points spent in the Soldier class to gain additional HP and elemental resistance. You can view my build here.

Nice build dude! I still need to level my Arcanist, but I am currently working on a lightning based pure Shaman. Have you tried the Shaman yet? Probably my favourite mastery so far.

Yeah, I levelled a Warder (Shaman + Soldier) to 41 over the weekend. :)

Awesome, got my (pure) Shaman to level 43 last night. I am loving this mastery, the lightning damage is so awesome! I don't have complimentary gear for all slots yet, but my DPS is now about 3200 (goes higher with my main skill) and my lightning modifier is at +%207. I also have two different items that each give +1 to all Shaman skills and if I manage to complete the Wildcaller set, I will get another +1 to all skills.
